Star Wars X-Wing Alliance (XWA)

Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance or XWA is the sequel to both Star Wars: TIE Fighter and the multiplayer-focused X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter. XWA presents the story of the Azzameen family, a family of space traders. The player assumes the role of Ace Azzameen, the youngest of the Azzameen children.

Apart from the usual badges and medals for winning missions - a feature shared by the other games of the X-Wing computer game series - progress is also indicated by the amount of souvenirs collected in Ace's room. There is also a "mail" delivery between missions that helps to evolve Ace's background story while also providing a deeper look into his personal relationships and his family's whereabouts.

XWA is the first game of the series to offer a full voiceover soundtrack and full in-flight dialogue. Flight control is marginally updated from the previous games of the series, allowing the player to link his or her different energy weapons to fire together, as well as the addition of rudder support. Graphics are also overhauled in this game; high resolution textures, more complex models, and full three dimensional cockpits were added. However, the cockpits are not faithful to the other games; indicators and screens are separated from the cockpit, depicted as floating windows as part of the in-flight heads-up display. The player also has three "mission skips" that allow him or her to proceed through the linear storyline without having to complete a particular mission. "Family missions," however, cannot be skipped.

The game's prologue (and tutorial) concerns Ace's "family missions" in which his elder family members and Emkay instruct him in the flying of Corellian transports so that he can begin working for the family.

These missions reveal that the Azzameen family are in heated competition with the Viraxo and are generally sympathetic to the Rebel Alliance. Due to their sympathies, the patriarch of the family, Tomaas Azzameen, smuggles bacta for the Alliance in the aftermath of the Battle of Hoth. This causes them to pay dearly as the Galactic Empire raids their home station for running bacta to an Alliance outpost. The family subsequently seeks asylum with a Rebel task force.

As a Rebel pilot, Ace participates in a variety of missions for the Rebellion while also helping his family fight the Viraxo. During his tour with the Rebel Alliance, he proves himself to be a significant pilot as he participates in missions that uncover new Imperial projects, such as experimental TIE fighters and the second Death Star.

Some events connect the game to the movies Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, such as sequences that track the Rebellion's situation after the Battle of Hoth, as well as the theft of the Shuttle Tyderium. The game also concludes with the climactic Battle of Endor. Several events connect to the Shadows of the Empire story, such as a mission to assist Dash Rendar in the capture of the Imperial freighter Suprosa, which carries the plans to the second Death Star.

I really reccomend this game! (wikipedia)

Its a really hard game to find nowadays, and is very old, but still one of the best simulators ever..

Mount & Blade (game that i play when server is down :P)

Features

War has come down on Calradia  and war attracts its own bunch of misfits. Mercenaries, cutthroats, knights and adventurers flood into the land looking for adventure, fortune and glory. But war is a harsh master. It gives away death and grief to the lot, fortune to a chosen few, and glory, wise men say, to none. Still, men ride to war, for one or other reason. Some because they are looking for thrill and excitement, some because they are desperate and know no other way. Some because they are so bitter and hateful that they are willing to unleash doom on earth... And yet some, because they are the very heroes who will step forward to stop that...

Combining a sophisticated, dynamic game world and intense medieval swordfighting action, Mount&Blade strives to create a game experience never seen before. Playing Mount&Blade, you will venture through a world filled with daring enemies as well as friendly groups that will come to your aid or need yours. In a land torn by constant danger, raids and skirmishes, you will raise and lead your own war band, commanding dozens of hardened soldiers. You will hunt down your enemies following the tracks they leave behind. And you will fight epic battles where arrows cut the air with deadly hisses, axes and swords hack with fury, and horses and men clash into a violent melee.

Pictures can be found Here. :)

Cool games ( Note I am a RTS fan)

Fallout 3: (RPG)

A roleplay game where you are set into a land where everything is destroyed. Everyone is poor etc. You need to survive into this destroyed land!

Oblivion:

A roleplay game where you are set into a fantasy land where you do quests and stuff.

Gears of War: (TPS, Third person shooter)

Good shooter, 1 and 2 are both good, story is very good and so is the multiplayer!

Settler Series: (RTS)

NOTE: there is classic settlers and modern settlers.

You have to build up a city with economy and stuff.

Example: lumberjacker cuts trees, a sawmill makes them wood, and a forest hut puts new trees for the lumberjacker to chop. ... Or a grainfield, mill and a bakery!

Difference between classic settlers (Settlers: 10th anniverary and Settlers V) is that sellers 10th anniversary uses the classic system of system and its better. But Settlers V is better in graphics and more RTS like.

Anno 1701: (RTS)

Great game where you colonize an island and you build up a big city! Alot like Settlers just a little different, better army system but building takes longer generally

Company Of Heroes: (RTS)

Simply the best WW2 game with good graphics. But the orginal version, not the standalone expansion.

Faces Of War: (RTS)

This is a RTS too, but it is more fighting with little army's and pretty realistic. You can take direct control of units and everything has an inventory and stuff. Pretty cool but multiplayer tends to be laggy. Check out Soldiers: heroes of WWII, its an older version but it seems to be less laggy.

Warcraft III + Expansion: (RTS)

One of the best RTSes ever made. The maps are realy differen. Tower Defense, Mauls, Hero Line wars, Worm war, DoTa or just simply a normal RTS game.

Mount&blade: (TPS, RPG)

A really nice Independent game if you like controlling a medieval char and hiring soldiers and get strongo ver time ruling the whole world by fighting army's etc. Try out the trial! It has unique gameplay experience!

Also, mods are made that might improve the gameplay experience. graphics too low? Download the graphical enchantments from the forums! they increase the graphics alot!

Cortex Command: (Side Scrolling Action Strategy game)

Ever dreamed of a game where you build a base (comepletely with parts and stuff) and then you order robots and stuff to defend it? Well this is the game for you! you can equip your soldiers with weapons and stuff and shoto the enemies!
Check out their homepage, the game is still unfinished but it's pretty funny, especially if you know someone who wants to play it.

Clonk: Rage (Side Scolling Action Strategy Game)

Mine oil, gold, stones etc. and make a base! pretty hard to explain. ---> www.clonk.de <--- check it out. Has unique gameplay with big replay value if you play online!

I think thats all...

I'm digging this cause I finished playing Mafia and it was by far the best freeroam I ever played.
It should have been GotY and it was superior to GTA III. And even today is still an awesome game.
The graphic quality it's over the top. I has better graphics than SA and remember, it was lauched around same time as GTAIII.

The script is awesome. It has all the elements a movie(not a game) needs.
The gameplay, far better than any GTA ever was. You doubt? Tell me why.
The city makes you travel in time to the 30's aswell has VC made for the 80's.
The characters have such dept.

It's a truly MAFIA game and if you don't like it. Go back to your ghetto.

Same here, I still can't wait for MafiaMP to get released, even thought it is expected around 2010 with those serious developers...

Well I am looking for a shooting similar to "Gunz"

that means you Can dodge bullets by tumbling, dashing jump off walls etc. So that you are able to shoot and dodge and stuff.

[Games I do NOT mean:

Counterstrike
Half Life 2
Call Of Duty
SWAT

Similar games I have tried

The specialists
Tremulous ( Yes the alien can walk on walls and stuff) )
Exsteel ( <--- STILL TESTING IT!!! )
S4League ( Really boring, you cant really dodge )

Thank you for advance :)
