Procedures, Rules, Regulations and Terms
This topic sets out key information that applies throughout the Court House and is in place in order to ensure cases are handled correctly. This topic is provided to ensure that you, the public, can understand how we, the Court House, will consider your cases.
1. OathThis is a new regulation in the Argonath legal system. All judges and judge assistants will be required to perform a ceremony in which this oath is given.
I, [NAME], do solemnly swear that I will administer justice without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and to the rich, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent upon me as [Judge/Judge Assistant] under the Constitution and laws of the United States of Argonath. So help me Sauron.
2. EvidenceThe accepted forms of evidence in court cases are as follows:
- Screenshots and videos, given they show a roleplay action that proves a recording was started.
- Chatlogs, given they show a roleplay action that proves a recording was started.
- (Sworn) testimony in a courtroom or office.
The presiding judge has discretion to decide what is admissible and what not. This is done to prevent endless discussions in cases.
3. Posting in casesYou may not post in any court case unless directly involved. Exceptions to this regulation can be made within the discretion of the presiding judge. Moderation is applied in regards to this regulation. Posts will be removed in case they are non-compliant without further notice.

Legal representationEvery person has the right to be represented, however there are a number of different terms that are used and it is important that these are understood to avoid confusion.
Lawyer - This person is trained to be a representative of a person and is recognised as being at a good standard by the court.
Legal Representative - This person is a private lawyer who is not recognised by the court (but has full rights to be representing someone, he/she may not be denied from attending cases).
Prosecutor - This is the person who represents the SAPD/FBI in their cases.
