ABOUT US

The San Andreas Fire Department is one of the most important emergency services within the State of San Andreas, forming part of the Argonath Fire Department service serving since 2009. Our employees are highly trained members out there to fight fires, administer medical treatment and serve the State.

RANK STRUCTURE

Senior Command

• Fire Chief
  
  
  The Fire Chief is the head of the SAFD and manages most of the department's development, overseeing it along with the Deputy Chief. The Fire Chief has proven to be a capable member who coordinates the major decisions of the department and personally checks and authorizes some of the changes and the vast majority of the fire protocols, managing most of the Command promotions and controlling the stations' and the SAFD's divisions. Each interstate Fire Chief can be considered to form one part of the global fire commission and can each be referred to as one third of a Commissioner, all coming together to form the ARFD's Commission.
  

• Deputy Chief
  
  
  The SAFD Deputy Chief performs the same duties as the Chief, and is the Fire Chief's right hand man. They act as a consultant and decision maker for the Chief, and assist with the majority of affairs within the department. The Deputy Chief has the same right as the Fire Chief. The Deputy Chief is one of the most valuable members of the SAFD.
  

• Battalion Chief
  
  
  The SAFD Battalion Chief performs the same duties as the Chief/Deputy Chief, and are one of the Chiefs, possessing the same rights as the Deputy Chief and the Fire Chief. As an adviser, shot caller, and a hard worker, the Battalion Chief is one of the most valuable members of the SAFD, especially as their job is more field-oriented, despite having a major administrative role.
  

Fire Command

• Captain
  
  
  Captains are the head of most field-based operations and apparatus management within every station, as well as being the one considered in charge of most field situations in the absence of a Battalion Chief or above.
  

• Lieutenant
  
  
  Lieutenants are the supervisors of their assigned station. They manage the apparatus assignments as well as being considered an Instructor of the Fire Academy.
  

Field Staff

• Fire Engineer
  
  
  Fire Engineers are senior field staff in the department, specializing in maintaining the fire apparatus, as well as having shown sufficient leadership out on the field. Anyone holding this rank is a senior member in the department, but still a member of the field staff.
  

• Firefighter
  
  
  A Firefighter is part of the field staff of an station and is a trained member within fire suppression, basic medical treatment and special intervention such as HAZMAT and Bomb Assistance and Rescue. They may serve multiple functions within a fire crew, such as managing the fire tank pump, fire intervention or being assigned to the Rescue Intervention Team (RIT).
  

• Cadet
  
  Fire Cadets are recently registered officials within the department,  in process of becoming a Firefighter, undergoing training held by the Academy Instructors/Command Staff. They are not fully commissioned firefighters yet but are still officials within the SAFD, being a high class of firefighting personnel.
  

RECRUITMENT & VOLUNTARISM

Step one towards employment as a Fire Cadet is to apply for the department at arfd.argonathrpg.com. Once noted by Command, incident reports are to be posted on the application every now and again, the recommendation being two a week. If and when accepted, you will become a Fire Cadet and will be trained to become a Firefighter.

Recruitment Prerequisites:

1) Must be a registered citizen of the United States of Argonath (passport).

2) Must have a valid, state issued, driver's license.

3) Must have an acceptable punishment history within the last month (determined by recruitment staff).

4) Must not have been fired from the San Andreas Fire Department in the previous two months. (exceptions can be made by Fire Command or Senior Command)

5) Must have been playing in the server for at least two weeks.

Announcement

We wish to inform you that Kevin Thompson has stepped down as Fire Chief, and Luther Kingston has stepped down to Honorary Fire Chief. With that, I'm hereby taking over as the Chief.

Trivia: Isn't it a bit of a conflict, being both SAFD Fire Chief and SAEMS Medical Services Chief?

The answer's simple. SAFD and EMS work together, and SAFD has basic medical training, while EMS specializes in medical work. SAEMS and SAFD will now work together, doing things such as joint response trainings, collaborating, and simply maintaining healthy relationships.

SAFD Recruitment is closed at this stage due to some serious internal problems, which will be resolved as swiftly as possible. Once they are, recruitment is reopened.

I also wish to announce the promotion of Fire Lieutenant Diveron Collin to the rank of Fire Deputy Chief, congratulations and thank you for stepping up!

SAN ANDREAS FIRE DEPARTMENT: PUBLIC RELEASE
27TH OCTOBER, 2019 - BY CHIEF KOWALSKI

At 17:34 CET, SAFD was called upon due to an explosive petrol fire ignited at Gas Station 9, Idlewood. The entire station, including the fuel pumps were up in flames.

Despite attempts to call backup, Chief Kowalski found himself to be the only firefighter available. Despite the odds being stacked against him, Chief Kowalski put out a national alert, to inform everyone to stay 100% clear of the fiery station. He began using his fire extinguisher to take out as many minor fires as possible, managing to extinguish the fires blocking the entry to the station. After managing to use the firetruck against the rooftop fires, and the extinguisher for the rest of the minor fires, the fire was finally out and the Idlewood GS9 area was re-opened.

SAN ANDREAS FIRE DEPARTMENT: PUBLIC RELEASE
18TH NOVEMBER, 2019 - BY CHIEF KOWALSKI AND BATTALION CHIEF LUTHER KINGSTON

At 12:24 CET, SAFD was called upon due to a plane crash in Rodeo, out front the Lamrevoka Digital Studio.

The crash was massive, and according to ATC, a military plane. It was suspected that hazardous materials were involved, and so Chief Kowalski and Battalion Chief Luther Kingston deployed the department's hazardous materials (HAZMAT) team. After equipping their oxygen masks, tanks, and having all necessary vehicles and equipment on stand-by, the two men began approaching and firefighting. After several hours of fighting, and fire suppression, the scene was finally cleared and remained closed for some time afterwards for the disposal of the hazardous material. Rodeo was later opened once again.
