Daniel Dunkeld - 'Hobo with a shotgun'

41 years ago, 14th of July 1979, Agatha Angevin-Dunkeld gave birth to a beautiful baby named Daniel.
Agatha was a great mother, and a role-model to Daniel. His father, Abraham, on the other hand, was not.
At first he had great parents, but as he grew up, Daniel's father was slowly becoming abusive and alcoholic.
When Daniel turned 8, he kept acting up in class and his teacher told Agatha & Abraham. Agatha took it calmly.
However, Daniel's father, took out his belt and beat Daniel for the first time. Daniel's mother could not believe her eyes.
The next day, she filed for divorce. They divorced after a while. Lots of abuse going on during that period.
Daniel kept staying at his mother's house because he was terrified of his dad.

5 and a half years later, Agatha passed away at the age of 52 from a heart attack in her sleep.
Daniel was legally forced to stay with his abusive dad that he hasn't seen in ages.
He looked very different from when he last gazed at him.
Abraham, Daniel's dad, became addicted to drugs and alcohol in that time span of 5 years.
Everyday, he kept beating up Daniel with a belt, then he started slapping him, and then progressed to punches.
Daniel couldn't deal with the pain. He kept going to school with bruises everyday.
Whenever someone asked him what had happened, he kept saying that he fell down whilst playing football.

Fast forward to 2 years later, after lots of bruises and patience, Daniel was 16 years old.
But suddenly, something hit him and he started becoming friends with the "cool" kids.
He was offered a cigarette, and he accepted it out of curiosity. He liked it.
He then got offered a can of beer. He accepted that as well. That's how.. an addiction started.
His father didn't care what Daniel was consuming, he kept beating him without reasons.
Daniel kept going out, with barely enough money. Wasted those bills on cigarettes and beers.
Half the times he was wiping down car windshields in the roads for $2 a car, with a dirty towel and some soap.
He made around 80$ in the first three days. Spent some of it on food and lots on smokes.

2 months before Daniel's 18th birthday, Daniel's father, Abraham, died from a drug overdose.
Daniel had to be taken care of by a foster family since he was not 18 yet.
His step mom and step dad were actually nice, but Daniel didn't care about anything at that point.
He was depressed, an alcoholic, and a smoker. He kept going out of the house at nights, without anyone knowing.
His step-parents then were even more concerned, so they sat down and talked to him when he was sober.
They suggested that he should drink less, and smoke less, and then slowly cut it, for him to be healthy.
Daniel, thought about it for a few minutes, and stood up, and said "What the fuck am I doing with my life?".
His step-parents informed him that they will be there for him, anytime.

Daniel started drinking less and less everyday. He then only drank on special occasions.
After a year of the talk with his step-parents, he stopped drinking alcohol.
However, smoking was still a big problem for him.
He smoked a little less than every other days, but he couldn't cut it.
He started eating healthy, working out 3 times a week. Slowly becoming healthier.

He applied for a job at Cluckin' Bell, and with the help of his step-dad, he got accepted.
He was working 8 hours a day, with a good salary. After a year of working, he could afford an apartment.
He worked at Cluckin' Bell for around 3 years in total.

When he became 24, he moved out of his step-parents house.
He was truly helped and changed by them, and it was time he should go solo.

Fast forward 14 years later, Daniel was 38.
Living in a small house. Paying taxes with no hesitation, has enough money to take care of himself.
Sadly still not cigarette free. He was still checking in on his step-parents.
He was trucking everyday for a couple of hours, getting paid well.
But then his boss's attitude took the wrong turn, and fired Daniel for an unknown reason.
After 6 months of having no job, Daniel could no longer afford to pay his taxes.
His house was sold to the state.

A year later, he found out that his step-father passed away from natural causes at the age of 72.

2 years later (now), 41 year old Daniel is living in "shelters" in the streets with his shitty dirtbike and his broken down Bobcat truck.
He has been homeless for almost 3 years now. He still smokes, not so addicted, but he does smoke whenever he's not riding or sleeping.
He's picking up trash from the streets so he can afford some food and gas, sometimes strangers even give him food or small change.
He tries not to bring up his messed up situation to anyone.
He keeps a shotgun close to him at all costs, in order to keep himself safe.
He calls himself "Hobo with a shotgun".
He likes to believed that he was raised to be like his deceased mother, Agatha. A perfect role-model.
