As the title suggests, I would like to hear your ideas and wishes for the SAMP project.

In order to increase the activity on the SAMP game server a bit, but also to be able to understand the reasons why some players no longer want to actively participate in the server, I start this topic.

Please stay on a factual level.

Best Regards

Argonath is dead. But it's only dead if we let it be dead.

Even if Timothy's topic may not have lasted what we all hoped, I would still like to appeal to you.

Try looking back at the good times, how was the time for you? Do you really want to leave that behind? In this post you are on the lead, you can let your ideas and suggestions run wild.

Think about how you can improve the server, including not only suggestions for scripts, but also those relating to the playerbase and so on. In my opinion, I put a lot of work into SAMP Argonath, be it the bar in which events take place and so on. I will also put my suggestions under this post in the next few days.

So, think about it again, let your ideas run wild and don't forget: To join the server when there are no or few players ... when others first see that there are people on it, others will follow suit.

That should be clear, as already described, this is also about the values that are behind the server and that means the players. Personally, I think, and I mean it seriously ... if we could somehow increase the number of players, the management would probably get involved more.

On the one hand it is understandable that our top ones do not /care/ about "us" due to the small number of players. According to the motto "what are the benefits of a few players".

To know the "solution" you have to know what the "problem" is. And many of us don't seem to be on the same page why this happend and is still happening. So, no wonder why these topics turn to be self-construcitve due to the disargreements of why did this happen and it makes sense. With no common ground how can we face towards?

Personally, there's no problem and there's no solution in literal terms. It is at simple as, people used to have fun, now they don't and we see the obvious and natural results of it. Now, we can disargee all day why are we in this state but we can ignore this and focus on how we were before in our good days. How were we in our good days?

One thing's for sure. You can't force fun upon players. In my opinion, the propagator of fun is a functional cycle of players. The main core once you break it down is cops vs robbers. Then we add our extra steps build it to be roleplayed. People will think outside the box and try their own professions, legal businesses and services. And it's an one way road. You can't have bars, services, mechanics etc. without an active PD and 1+ active criminal group(s). Because it's GTA afterall and people's primary instict is to break free and someone has to be there to add the sense of risk (the police).

As i said, fun can't be forced. We've proven to ourselves the server is incapable to resurrect form its own/ Because the most healthy thing would be for the server to naturally with no plan fall back to this kind of mindset and rebuild itself. So, are we not able to bring change just because it should had been done already by a collective genuine will to make the server fun? I don't have the answer to that, I want to believe yes. My logic says it's a big sign that we're stuck in a loophole but as long as we're a few people caring still we can always try.

I've made my ideas too obvious in the past I won't bother repeating really it's sad and they'd be heard by now if it was to be.

What I'll begin to say though is a breakdown of the current of the server. We're left with veterans that have grown out of the cops vs robbers phase and want to take initiative and do things on their own, not usual stuff and not scripted ones. So you got to start from somewhere where a few active people can settle and do something collective. Cause we've got a few stocks in individuals but not in groups. Let's get together.

This is profound and a good way of putting it. We're not aligned on our views of what "good" and "right" looks like.

Argonath's boring and repetitive for most, people don't wanna do same thing over and over. I'd suggest take a new approach and do something you havent tried out already. If you want help in executing that, I'm sure people are excited to join in If you involve them and the idea is well presented. Mapping team is happy to help out aswell.

I know I quit SAMP quite some time ago, but for me personally the reason was that people would just be stuck grinding scripts for money and no-one was interacting. There'd be like 30 players in the server, which isn't a lot compared to what the server used to get, but still enough to enjoy the game. Yet, the mainchat would be queit and the game would just feel dead. Anyone you'd drive by would be AFK, and the rest were grinding scripts :(. It just didn't feel the same, so I left.

Perhaps its time to upgrade to a medium roleplay server.
