WOW everyone is all like "AMERICANS AND THEIR CRAZY GUNS!"...it really isn't that big of a deal. It is just like ingame, do you feel safe with out a gun? I shot my first deer with a 25-06 deer rifle when I was 12. I shot my first pistol when I was 6 (my dad was holding the gun too calm down). I got a BB gun when I was 5 and a sling shot. Where I come from, it is unnatural if you don't have a gun in your house. No one gets into trouble with them except for the murderers. The last minor that got hurt with a gun was a stupid high school jock and one of his stupid buddies who was cleaning a gun of his. But most aren't stupid enough to get hurt because most parents drive it into their tiny kids heads that guns are cool but extremely dangerous even when they think they aren't loaded. And to always stay away from them while parents aren't watching. Anyways, definitley go with the shotgun man!

Protect yourself from bad guys - frankly, I wouldn't want a pile of dead man in my hallway. Whats the likelihood that you could actually get it loaded in time to surprise them anyway? Just hit them with a Baseball Bat or something.
Hunt - don't go there.
Shoot at Targets - You don't need to own a gun to do this, you could do it at commercial places.
Learn to use a gun - Why would you need to?
Protect your family - Same thing, hit 'em with the bat!

Now, this is coming from the mind of an British person, who doesn't get the concept of using a Gun to shoot someone in defence in your home; so I can't exactly comment on the society of a place where criminals are highly more likely to have a gun themselves. I've hardly ever seen a real gun (apart from in Airports, or where the Police came into our School with M4 Machine Guns.  )

Even if you get a shotgun,do you think that a 12 years old boy can use a shotgun?Do you think that a 12 years old boy can SHOOT SOMEONE ?? Even a 32 years man will think before shooting someone (GUTS).And what will 2 guys with pistols do,when they see a 12 years old boy with a shotgun ? I will simply give him a big kick and it will be forgotten...ffs think a little ... sheeesh :|

Luke I dont know what world you live in where you have to protect yourself with a SHOTGUN. thats Death in the first shot. have you ever used a Shotgun for protection?

Also, a 12 year old with a gun. Scenario 1Guy comes into your house,  Surprise attack with a Baseball bat. a club or anything harmful but not quite lethal, and then you call Cops

Scenario 2 Guy comes into house, you shoot him. he is dead. now forever in your mind you have that memory of KILLING a man when you where 12 years old.  :pop:
