I think Family will find a way of getting your money if you shoot him with a shotgun.

I would much rather have a gun to atleast intimidate the armed robber so I could atleast turn the tables on him. In most cases, I would probably handle that situation like this: I first would tell my family to back away and hide or something. Also, no one would follow the guy with a shot gun if he has an intent to shoot at someone with a gun; if they are smart they won't put themselves in danger too. Therefore, this would minimize secondhand gun wounds.

The whole bullet spray thing isn't as big as you think. In other words, it isn't like games play it out to be. It also depends on what kind of rounds you are using. A bird shot will have a large spread over a large distance. A slug, not as much. And you couldn't have it more wrong about the small space thing. The pellets will spread into a larger area over a larger distance. Shotguns are primarily used in close quarters because of their effectiveness in smaller areas. You wouldn't want to shoot an enemy with 100 bbs in 100 different places all over the body. You would want them all to go to a certain area. Also, unless you shoot against metal, most of the pellets will sink into the wall.

Well, I got an iPod nano...
I needed it for running and drumming so I dont mind, My dad said he would get me a gun next christmas anyway.

INstead of a gun now, i have a razor sharp pocket knife in my room so when a guy comes in at night, go jackie chand and throw the knife at him (trust me I know how to.)

ANyways my dad offered me a 20 gauge gun, so that wouldn't do much.  ANyways my family already has a gun, so my dad would be first to react. 
Off topic, IM training my self how to take a pistol out of a attacker's hands when he points it at you, and its going well.

Oh and to watahell, the world won't get better, it's time to accept that.  Our math class (me, this kid, and a teacher.) were debating on how to stop war.

Rules of hunting is to never shoot a gun unless you have a clear sight of your prey. Otherwise you end up like Dick Cheney.

A professional burglar will see instantly if you are used to handle a gun and know his chances. In case you are insecure,you are in more danger than he is. Having a gun is nothing without the training and the mentality to actually use it against another human.

If guns are outlawed, it will stop a lot of unnecesary accidents and violence. Not all, but a lot.

Again...if guns are outlaws, how are we supposed to protect ourselves from the people who do have guns? Are we supposed to cower in a corner while the man steals our precious items? I think not. Simply, if guns are outlawed, only the bad people will have the guns.

Shootings are so uncommon in the UK, when I was in the US on the news I was so surprised that there was, like, at least one shooting reported a week.
