No.

There is absolutely no scientific proof for "God", and everything can always be explained, sometimes it just takes decades/centuries of research and development to have the resources to do so.

To be honest, the idea of a "God" doesn't really seem right to me. That said, I can see the comfort that the idea of religion might bring. Some people need a crutch for life, and God is that crutch. They lean on him when they don't want to deal with stuff by themselves, or when they cannot. As Pierce said, when he is in a really bad way he like says "Oh God get my out of this one.".

"God" is merely something for people to lean on in times of need. Rather, the idea of a "God". The teachings of religion are sometimes appropriate, such as 'Do not Kill', 'Do not Steal' etc. and whatever else (I don't know the commandments or w/e). However, some of those teachings are flawed. Like for example, Abstinence - I mean come on. Seriously, that isn't right. Also, some people take it too far and force it in your face (and its not just Islamic teachings, its also Christianity, and others) and that just pisses people off and makes them actually hate religion.

So sorry - Though I recognise that some teachings of religion are worth looking at, much of the stuff that goes around it is IMO rather fake and the idea of a "God" is merely a crutch for people in times of need. The fact people devote their lives to him is very sad, as it is my opinion that they are wasting their lives. When I ask them why they do it, they say "Ah, so I can go to Heaven!". But surely if you have to devote your entire life to actually have enough 'GodCredits' to get into Heaven (:lol:) then basically everyone else is going to hell. Well, I'm not going to waste my life and then die, and thats it. Or even if heaven is real, have it full of really, really religious people. I'd rather go to hell.

No, I don't believe in "God". At all. He is a crutch made by people in times of need. Thats all.

3. Once again. You have a choice to follow god or not.

If you belive Jesus died for you = Hevean
If you don't = Hell

Its basic as that.

I hope that answered a bit for you.

Doesn't that kind off sound like terrorism?

I don't need to post anything here, as Maxy has said everything almost exactly how I see it. (Great minds think alike)

And if I were to choose religion, well Iggy already stated it.
You may not see your Christian Terrorists on TV crashing planes into towers, killing thousands and thousands of innocent people ( :cry: )
Just go down the street to that baptist church, or turn on the TV in America, and you'll see a guy SCREAMING about god is great and telling us we'll burn for eternity and live an eternal life of hell and pain and suffering.

That sounds like just as much terrorism to me, considering how evil some Christians turn on you when you attempt to go against the word of God.
My sister.... All it took was some guy, promising her that all her pain and suffering would be gone away with a bit of prayer in the house of god. All it took, and she turned to an evil bitch in the matter of 4 days.

And yes, just to add to my 'Terrorism' words.

I shouldnt have asked "is'nt that terrorism" because claiming a religion is bad is also terroism, you should respect everyone for what they think even
=>IF<= they dont respect you.

C'mon it's better when you believe in him, cause when you have problems that you can't handle, you will automatically start to pray. So you will get new hope that something good happens. When you don't believe in god, and you can't handle ur problems and you don't get new hope you will end as an emo, point.

I believe in God.

If there is some unreal fact that happened, eg. someone's cancer was cured - I have an explanation. God did it.
If you don't believe, you will have to search for answers, while I already have one.

Believing in a religion is for giving an answer to the unanswerable questions ;)

Note when Christianity was started... people didn't have so advanced science back there, but they had the same philisophic questions like how did the world start. Since they didn't have science, they only could believe in God. Now we have science - so people don't really know what to believe in. So they choose the most comfortable option for them.

I do believe in God, as an Orthodox. I dont go to church every sunday, but I do go to pay my respects.

Although, there are a few points I disagree on. People over centuries have stated, that it is a 'Choice' to follow God, it is at your own free will, no body is pushing you. This has got me dumbfounded, as this is the main belief of God and afterlife;

Believe in God = Heaven
Dont believe in God = Hell

I dont really think we are getting a fair choice, and it does seem like people are pushing us to believe in God, claiming it is at our own 'Free Will'. I believe in God, and always will, but there are always points which question mark me, which leaves me in a bit of doubt.

You do not need scientific proof to believe in anything. People are believing in many things that are not proven. They believe in Santa Claus, in the promises of their political leaders, that their girlfriend will love them forever.... so why not believe in God ?

Any religion is a guideline for your life, to give you moral values and to make you remember not to do bad things. However religion in the hands of leaders is a powerful tool to make people follow crazy ideas and kill each other.
There for true religion should not be in your mouth or actions. It should be in your heart. There are many ways to believe in a God, and if it helps you being a better person, you should choose the way that is closest to you. But telling to believe is not enough. Going to Church is not enough. Calling the name of your god every day is not enough.
If a God exists, judgement will be done on your deeds, not on how often you praised.

The only way to reach true religion is by carrying in in your heart, and understanding that no other person will share your view on religion and God. And the only way to reach the next spiritual level, if there is any, is by living your life trying never to harm or hate others. That is something everyone can and should follow, no matter if they need to find answers to questions that can not be answered by a attributing them to a supranatural being or not.
