Who here is getting the new Apple iPhone 3G, coming to selected countries nationally on July 11th.

I really do want to get it, but there are a few things bothering me.

For starters, possible PLANS or PRE-PAID figures have not even been announced, so nobody knows how much they will be avaliable to be purchased for. Quoted from Apple, you can purchase the Apple iPhone for $199 American PLUS the Plan of your choice. The smallest plan projected over a 24 month period equates to $1984. Nothing has been confirmed, and the release date is in about 3 weeks...

To buy it outright, the phone may cost from $600-800 Australian, but some people are saying $1,600-1,800!


I really want to buy this certain phone, but come on, stop screwing us around Apple...

I think $600 is a bit too much for a phone.. But yeah one of my friend have a Apple iPhone... I really like it, but $600 is a bit too much for me...

The price is mad+ you can't use an iphone with 1 hand, can't change battery, can't have custom software in it, the touchscreen it umm...how should i put it, crap. But rest of it is almost fine.

Im getting it, but it isnt that much

Here for an 18 month contract, phone itself is £99, £30 a month
But im getting it pay as you go, which is £269 for phone

Getting it for my birthday  :D

New price is RIDICULOUSLY cheap compared to the previuos price ($500 down to $200), you can use it with one hand its not that hard unless you are spastic. You can change the battery, but you have to take it to the store (so ill give you that one). You CAN have custom software in it, google jailbroken iPhone. The touchscreen in genius, multitouch it the lastet type of touchscreen.

No way you use it properly with 1 hand, i tried to talk and drive with it, almost crashed into a lightpost because of that. Battery changing removes the guarantee, custom software is dangerous for the phone, it probably won't matter to you but T9 isn't good for many other languages but English, and i still think Ipod touch has touchscreen that's better. Also, the 200$ isnt the final price. And all the scratches and fingerprints on the screen? I think they could have came up with a better solution.

Nah it's what people that think with a brain do.
I would rather spend pennys and grab a bargin with gadget things such as phones, TVs, computers etc... Than wasting all of my cash on buying the best gadgets so that I could show off to my friends and then not be able to spend money on things that really matter like bikes, cars, going out with friends etc...

I guess people have different preferences but I used to make the mistake of buying really expensive gadgets and having no cash to spend on things I really need.

because some of us cant afford to wake up in a mansion, have a shit in a diamand incrusted toilet seet, have breakfast made by the finest chef in the world, have a nice day out with 2 playboy fitties, fly to france to have dinner with pam anderson, fly back home just in time to watch eastenders on your 200inch plasma screen tv, that happens to be in your shoe closet..
then go to bed next to katie price.
