I like what you've said here Merc and Panda, both sides are true and that shows the how complex and undefined the nature of RP is, and I think it should stay that way.

In my opinion, I RP how I RP, if someone jumps when I'm chasing them, I'll jump, if they don't I wont.

Also about the unrealistic "running away when there are people all around" scenario. One of my RP characters is very complex and has a long back story that intertwines with other characters played by other player. I won't go into details now but I will just say that he tries to put on a front, he talks the talk but when it gets down to physical fighting, he can't hack it and will try to escape in any possible, be it bargaining or fleeing.

That's just the way I do it, and so many people RP in their own way so I don't think these tips are that useful as the breadth of RP is so wide that no rules can cover it all.

Also, this is a different type of RP server, there are some servers (Though a couple just flat out blow...) that you'll get jailed for bunnyhopping for some time, and they're very very strict on all the stuff that Merc stated here.
And the abbreviations, lol, wtf, lulz, etc.

I can't see why people say "No Merc, your ideas suck, so go fuck off."
All he's doing is what I did and try and help the server with some more roleplay.
Add a few rules here & there and you can help curve the 'path'.

Sorry guy, i didn't have so much patience to read all the responses but:

As someone said: we all aren't great typers...

And, i think, typing half time of playing game is not the point. I really respect and even love what you written to improve RP on Argonath, because its poor these days (normally on server there is like 10 guys RPing great, 20 RPing well but only if u snap them, and the rest is just playing singleplayer with some bots called players).

Actually, I try to use /me as much as i can, but I can't stand situation like I have to stop playing, like freeze when driving, running, and without any animation (minus of this script) stand in a place and start writing sophisticated RP sentences... Although, I like RPing when I'm a passenger in a car, then it's really cool. But stopping the game...naah...

You may blame me now that I'm poor RPer or that I'm wrong, but, trust me, I didn't write everything I think about RPing... I could write few A4 pages about it, but then U wouldn't read it

Again, as much as I'd like to hotwire cars, I can't type like the speed of light, and I'm not gonna die in a cop chase and be randomly jailed by new freecops for trying to swiftly type /me commands to hotwire the thing.
I agree with Panda here, we are not all 1337 typers.

You don't have to be a great typer, just do in your spare time when your not being chased. If you being chased by cops just keep using the car you have and if it blows up, its your loss.


To me it just looks like people cant be bothered to roleplay, "I cant type fast" and all this. I don't understand why you don't like to roleplay realistically  :conf:

I was never for complicated RPG server on GTA... More rules - more rulebreakers - more moaners, more fight/arguing, etc... In the end - more and more rules... People and admins started asking in which situations what decision should be...

Lets see... Cops are driving civilian cars... You said - "None RP!"... Why you start think as real life in one direction?
What I mean? For one chase criminal can change 5 cars... It was done to prevent runners... As entering the new car and driving away takes 1-2 seconds... Real life? When the car damaged - criminal just runs to the Pay-n-Spray and car repaired on 100% in 5 seconds... Real life? No... Police cars cannot repair in the same way? So cops should drive with minimum damages - Impossible if they try to stop a criminal... They have to block the road, crash car from road, etc...

So before talking about RP, think...

Thats only 1 side of what Merc told us there are far more.
Its all about serious Roleplay and about what you can change to yourself. You cant change pay and sprays yourself... Well yeah you can, stop using them. Maybe a new subject Merc?  :razz:

And Ron, that isn't always the case, yes sometimes it happens, but admins will have control over it.
Like the Bunnyhopping situation, if there was a rule (Which there was a while back) that bunnyhopping isn't allowed, it only takes a few words to tell players to stop. Maybe a kick or two, but nobodys really gonna complain about it.

If the blips were off radar then any Rp could happen, you would get no people going to pay n spray in middle of a chase, and no cops searching for orange blips then shoot them down. I am dissapointed that so many disagree with my ideas. Well its you that doesn't want to develop argonaths roleplay state, shame on you.


Why do you call your self Argonath RPG and not Argonath Developing Roleplayers. Seriously it looks like you don't like change for the better and if the state of roleplay doesn't change I am not waiting around for it. I'll be long gone.
