Im not sure how exactly it got into my computer (My sister someones web surfs on here so Im guessing that) But Its some sort of popup virus called Spycheck2.1 (Or something like that) Theres usually 2 icons in the taskbar (Included in picture) and every 10 minutes or so popups telling me my computer has a virus comes up telling me to down their software to remove it. Obviously Im not silly enough to download the popup. I have tried uninstalling it (didnt work) and I also tried a number of anti-spyware and anti-virus programs but its still here. I also tried a system restore, Some help would be much appreciated =].

Well, I just Googled around a little and the only soloution I'm familiar with is Ad Aware (Lavasoft).

Open task manager and end these processes: AntiSpyCheck.exe, asc_2.1_setup[1].exe, AntiSpyCheck 2.1.exe, then download Ad Aware SE Personal and run a full system scan - it usually picks up stuff that programs like Spybot don't. This most likely won't solve the problem entirely, because some comments mention the system tray icon still being there but it's a step in the right direction.

Which AVG did you use?

Because I had EXACTLY the same problem ... I downloaded free AVG 8.0 Internet security (a trial version for a month) and it got rid of all the shet ..

You can try too, maybe it will work ..

AVG TRIAL DOWNLOAD (download Internet Security .. more features)

Hope it helps, Playbody :D

There is a program collection called 'hitman pro'. It downloads a number of spyware/malware detections and has a 98% removal score.
After using, de-install as it will slow down your PC otherwise.

Hitman Pro installs about 10 Programs on your PC.
When I did it, it would not stop saying that fraps.exe was malware or something... and like 3 other clean programs.

Just go get Spybot Search & Destroy and you should be fine.

Yesterday i had a pop up spyware also that tryed to made me force to buy somekind of Anti Spyware program.
I used Hitman Pro and now its all fixed.
I am 99% sure that if you download Hitman Pro from the officel website, it will be gone.
Hitman Pro is free and easy to use.
