Try Esc... it sometimes works for me, but sometimes these freezes are unavoidable...

I had this before, my solution was the make a batch file which opens when you do a certain key combination such as CTRL+ALT+Q and here is the code you need to put into the batch file:

taskkill /f /fi "imagename eq gta-vc.exe"

It will work the same as doing end proccess in task manager, only it does it automatically so the fact that the screen is frozen will not be a problem.

When I didn't have that batch file, I did this:

Press WINDOWSBUTTON+R
Type cmd
Press ENTER
Type taskkill /f /fi "imagename eq gta-vc.exe"
Press ENTER

The entire time, the screen remained frozen while I pressed the according keys, but after finished (assuming you typed everything exactly without a single typo), it exits the crashed VC and no more frozen screen.

If you didn't know, to make a batch file open notepad, type the code, then save it as filename.bat and for the key combination, you can make a shortcut to the file, then in the shortcut properties there is an option here you can choose it to run when you do a certain key combination. However, from previous experience, the hotkey will only work if you place the shortcut on the desktop or in certain other locations which I do not remember.
