The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is the world's largest and highest-energy particle accelerator complex, intended to collide opposing beams of protons charged with approximately 7 TeV of energy. Its main purpose is to explore the validity and limitations of the Standard Model, the current theoretical picture for particle physics. It is theorized that the collider will produce the Higgs boson, the observation of which could confirm the predictions and missing links in the Standard Model, and could explain how other elementary particles acquire properties such as mass.

The LHC was built by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), and lies underneath the Franco-Swiss border near Geneva, Switzerland. It is funded by and built in collaboration with over eight thousand physicists from over eighty-five countries as well as hundreds of universities and laboratories. The LHC is already operational and is presently in the process of being prepared for collisions. The first beams were circulated through the collider on 10 September 2008, and the first high-energy collisions are planned to take place after the LHC is officially unveiled on 21 October 2008.

Although a few individuals have questioned the safety of the planned experiments in the media and through the courts, the consensus in the scientific community is that there is no conceivable threat from the LHC particle collisions.

- Taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Large_Hadron_Collider

The experiment today(10th of September) were successfully, why won't the new one be successfully?
So I am just want to calm some of the eartpeople(including Argonath inhabitants) that Cern isn't that dangerous everyone thinks. I can't wait til' 21th of October. But just DON'T think I am with these scientists and want to destroy the earth with big bang, no no! But it is pretty awesome what the scientists can create and success with! I mean wow, I thought it would go wrong and the big bang experiment explode today! But it didn't, who says next time?

Thanks, just want to warn/tell this to everybody.
Harald

By the way, look at this video!

It wasnt successfully in total because they had problem with some software and with a device that captures bundles of protons, but it will be fixed soon..

Indeed Brains, but the easy thing I meant was that the big bang did start off. Although I almost doesn't know anything about this yet. I will research, it is very interesting. I just heard it on news today, but I learned the ground fast.

Jonny, that gives a lot of information about it, thanks.

Challenger, I couldn't find any better, but I have seen many off-computer topics here.
Legend, if this topic already exists in something such, I am sorry. I searched but couldn't find. I don't want it to disappear since I haven't seen any active topics that have with this to do.
Jcstodds, yea', it is great, I listening to it over and over again, hahha.

 LHC, would make people angry.
But I dont understand why.

The world wont explode, just a black hole, what is sucking everything.
So be happy, when it goes wrong, u will be sucked ( for little boys the first time in their life, that must be really cool for them, with their small dick :$)
And otherwise, If u see the black hole, u can try run away from it.
It wont help, but then u can say in heaven..

[AV]Nexxt says:  Yeaahh, i was running away from the  black hole...
[AV]Nexxt says:  But the black hole catched me, so now Im in heaven and have 77's black unused holes for my own :$

Omg, what I just said, sucks XD

there wont be a black hole wich kills everyone,
when it does come on the day, wich it definatly will.
it wont do any harm
it will pop up every few minuits for a proto second and it will evaporate strait away. doing no harm what so ever,
last wednesday, they started charging the machine, charge takes up to 1 year, once fully charged it will all be used within 3 hours of testing.
this is the most planned out plan for the humans
