Well, for one, it depends on the type of bullet that was shot out of it. Two, sawn offs in real life aren't like what they are in SA . Anways, I hope the kid survives and the guy who shot him is put to jail.

Chances of surviving a shot from a handgun a much slimmer in real life than you may think, the bullet leaves and exit hole that really isn't pretty...

A sawn off shot gun will just rip a torso apart, provided it is close enough.
