This whole topic here is based on 1 thing. Admins, and arguments.

If you would not like to read this i suggest you hit the back arrow now::::

:

Right, so this is not any complaint on admins because i know that is for community email, but, this is about arguing.

First off: Let's get some basics known here:

1/3 of the time /p chat is used for arguments about crazy things, whether it's RP, the server itself, out of character argument, argument about RP, or just idiots flaming each other back and fourth 'omg noob' 'omg no your noob,' 'no your bigger noob,' or other players/admins kinda thing.

1/4th of all arguments in the chat are about these particular things: Admins, Poor RP, and player vs player flaming.

The thing i'm here to talk about here today is ADMINS vs players arguments.

OK sure, we've all gotten into an argument with at least 1 admin over something in /p chat. Do you all remember how it ended? Yep, being banana'd, kicked, banned, or warned. When does this most of the time happen? It usually happens when the admin is to a point where he's been cornered in this war and decided to banana you and continue doing it until you stop fighting, all because they have no good enough comeback for the player.

For example, i was arguing with an admin about kidnaps, because they butted in on a conversation about having to ask about kidnapping. After some arguments left and right, i asked this certain admin 'So if your doing admin work, i am allowed to kidnap you without even asking? Even though you're given reports of hackers and are checking it out?

After i asked this of course, i was told to stop and was banana'd because i proved this admin wrong. And his comeback was 'read what i said and it will answer your question' when it was a simple yes or no answer, and he gave me neather and gave a random speech about kidnapping, EVADING my question. Me and this certain admin, also had another argument several minutes ago and it ended the same way as my story, he had no other comeback that would be good enough so i was banana'd and kicked and was told i was 'crying.'

***ENDRANT***

Thank you for reading, and i just wanted to get this off my chest.

All comments from admins and players accepted, but please try not to provoke a flame war.

Just coming along to see but not trying to provoke a war.......We are not always right ;).Are you commenting on admins work? :)

All should understand that Argonath is not just something you waste time on. It is a community with heart and soul that will stick together.

Admins should not be involved in arguing with player...
If player provokes admin on arguing, especially on server, does not matter public chat or PMs, admin should give a link to forums where all questions answered or can be answered...

There is a special board for such cases like "Developers answer: give examples" where you can write a situation and see what will developers answer to you...

If player constantly using server chat options for arguing he should be kicked/bananad... If he ignores admins and continue it he can be temporarily banned from server until he will not get answer on forums...

Server chat is not for arguing between player and admins actions... As for player he just sits and spending time to argue, for admin - while answering he gets 20 reports in 30 seconds, spectating reported players, answering questions about roleplay options, etc...

And I doubt there are all admins so patient as to sit and argue with player, especially giving him good, wide answer on your problem... The one way it can be done really understandable - forums, which are built exactly for talking and not for spectating reported players or hackers...

You found paradise in Argonath. You had a good game, you made good friends. The admins protected you and there were courts of law. So you didn't need a friend like me. Now you come and say "Aragorn, give me justice." But you don't ask with respect.

I would never have time to sit and argue with someone who wants to complain about being punished for breaking a rule, so I give him the website link and ask him to read the rules. He then screams abuse so I give him the complaint e-mail address. However, he just keeps arguing...

When it gets to a point where the guy reallly needs to send a complaint and not argue, I punish for it.

Other times when I punish for arguing are when they start flaming or start provoking flame like this:

"So David, do you think you're a big man, sitting in the sky in a comfortable admin abuse chair?"

That was an actual quote from a player...

When in any other types of arguments, I don't use admin commands or even act like an admin because the argument would be based on recent confusion or contradictions from roleplaying...
