The Crips are a primarily, but not exclusively, African American gang founded in Los Santos
San Andreas in 1969 by Zonet And Wolf. What was once a single gang is now a
loosely connected network of individual sets engaged in open warfare with one another.
Through the years the gang has grown to be one of the largest and most powerful gangs in
San Andreas with a membership that exceeds well over 30,000 gang members. The gang is known
to be involved in murders, robberies, drug dealing, among many other criminal pursuits.
The gang is notorious for its gang members flamboyant use of the color blue and purple in their clothing and cars.
Ranks:
OG- Original Gangsta:
these people are founders or gangstas that have moved up the ranks over time to become an Original Gangsta. They are the most well known members of the group and are usually leaders or skilled, respectful members. These can recruit members and bring them upto regular members or wannabe status in the gang.
Hardcore:
These are the most violent and respected members apart from the OG's. These are co-leaders in a way as they have the main privilages in meeting's, money and drug deals. This means that most of the gang runs off these members seeing as they are the most skilled in fighting, dealing and driving etc. they are also well respected members like the OG's. The only real difference is that these members cannot recruit only recommend new members to the OG's.
Regular Member:
Regular gang members are the main force of the gang, they are now an official crip member and can buy property's on the hood. These members take part in gang meetings, use the gangs skin and colours, take part in big drug deals (guarding the deal) they also hang around the turf chilling and looking out for enemy gang members. They aren't as high up as Hardcore members so get less of a voice throughout the gang itself but if they are seen doing something good by OG's or Hardcore members (coming out successfull in an attack or defending turf, securing a drug deal, showing skill during police chases or raids etc.) they can be recommended to the leaders and may be promoted to hardcore.
Wannabe's:
These are average 'trial' members and are the newest 'members'. People of wannabe status are people who want to join the gang and need to prove themselves somehow to the OG's or Hardcore members. There are many ways of doing this such as showing skill in drug dealing, skill in shooting, skill in car chases and even winning in a setup fight with another member. These members have next to no real benefits yet in the gang and can only hope to be promoted, they cannot attend meeting yet either. If they prove themselves they become a member of the Crips, if they fail anywhere or show no dedication to the gang they'll be out.
