First of all let me begin with saying I am not saying I am "Good" I feel I have decent enough experience to produce a guide on how to make a movie successfully, anyway if you want to comment negatively saying "So you think you are so kewl" or what ever, please leave, otherwise lets begin
STEP 1: Planning- Your Intro text should
NEVER be the default text title effects, Never go with default, or else people go "Oh he made that in that program" always stay with original.
- Is your movie is always moving fast or is based on something violent, I'd advise you to use something quite heavy, I am not saying those "DIE MUTHA f**kA DIE MUTHA f**kA DIE!!!!!!" songs, I'm talking about some songs with maybe heavy guitar and fast drums,
otherwise, if it is explaining something, you'd probably want to go with slow music, say for example if you are showing off scenery the only way to bring out beauty is by playing calm music, look for a not-well-known song so when people hear it they say "Oh, that's original" which is what you are looking for, I suggest Enya for very slow songs, and something like Linkin Park - Rob Zombie if you want songs for fast/violent movies, once you have done this you can move onto the next step of planning.
- Are you doing lots of pictures or one big movie clip or lots of movie clips, if its alot of pictures when changing to a picture, use some nice transitions, but stay with the flow of the music, lets take "I'm to sexy" for example, if he sings, "I'm to sexy for my ..." as soon as he sings I'm you'd want a fast transition that doesn't distract the Audience but still keeps them entertained, for something to change as fast as that you wouldn't use a fade, if the music is slow use loooong fades, this could apply for a movie, but, attempt to make flashes for movies, what I mean by this is create say a white overlay and fade it in very quickly and out again, and if the beat is a "Tah tah tah tah" then create a quick flash every tah, play with it but remember what I said, always stay original.
STEP 2: SoftwareYou can make a pretty decent movie with any drag and drop program, but you don't want decent you want Professional, I personally use two programs, Macromedia Fireworks (Legit Purchased Copy) and Sony Vegas 8.0 Pro, with this Fireworks program I can create effects and overlays if I want, and then I can put that in with my movie, these two programs mix beautifully.
STEP 3: DecencyTry to stay decent, "DIE MUTHA f**kA DIE MUTHA f**kA DIE" is not necessary, why not censor out the words "MUTHA f**kA" and place in the current music creating, "DIE, tah tay tah tay DIE" or else just go for another song, since Profanity offends alot of viewers, so try to stay out of the swearing part.
STEP 4: Finishing- Always make credits unless it is a brief advertisement for something, for official movies, make it
LOOK official, add in the music used, the programs used and the actors or a message.
- Once you have finished, you can compile it through what ever program you want and then depending on the program you use it usually comes out at about 800MB per 1gb, depending on its contents, just pictures is about 1.5gb per 6:30, yes I've done my homework, then Compress it to as small as you can, I'm not going to go through compressing, once compressed upload it on Youtube, a good way to get good views is to have a stylish channel, (FYI, when you upload if your movie says processing, just leave it to process it has to be checked by youtube moderators before availability) then say for example its about Argonath, goto the Argonath forums and post it there, or if its about SA:MP goto the SA:MP Forums and post it there..etc, otherwise just tell you're friends, and they will probably tell their friends and it will keep going, and there you go, you've made and posted a movie
GOOD LUCKMatthew
