It's clear, ur Graphic Card CD driver are not compatible with ur windows updates.. and I think u have sp3.. (check)

 Solutions:

- Install Windows Xp Sp2 if u don't have (this isn't vry vry important)
- try to reinstal/instal other Graphic Card driver (maybe catalyst 8.6 *Recommended* / or downlaod other driver from website ( NOT from Cd )

SP2 is actually pretty important, as it solves a number of security issues waiting to be abused by hackers/phishers etc, and lots of programs nowadays need SP2 to function.

As the previous people said, uninstall your current graphic card drivers and install the newest one from the website of your manufacturer.

you're right.. but in this case problem isn`t SP2 or SP3

(if don't work *Recommended*) before to instal drivers, use next steps:
  1. download drive cleaner pro
  2. run the program and clean everything
  3. reboot ur pc
  4. Install catalyst 8.6 or other drivers

I think some driver goes to conflict with graphics driver.

Uninstall all graphics driver, download and install all (utilites and drivers) from that page!

if catalyst 8.6 don't work (it's vry strange) try the latest version on their site

I have a feeling, that this problem should be send to ATI.
Try this graphics card on some other computer. If the problem persists on other computer, back to shop!
