Besides /area isn't really too much of a RP command. I mean, you can't just track someone by writing something down with a command, I think its use is to find players and to have fun with them, if Flameman thinks you did this for non-rp, then its wrong. It ain't even RP in any way as I said.
 On another note on that; why even care? Jebus, just let him /area you and its fine.
But still it ain't right to act in the way NitrOx did for that moment.

But you could just have bananad him, a ban was not the right choice in this case imo, if he'd start harrasing you in your PM then you can just turn your PM off. I've got the feeling this was a little more of a personal perspective than from an admin perspective.

While it is not forbidden to use /area on admins, it does give admins an extra reason to spectate people who use this to find out if they are spectated.
If you have nothing to hide, no reason to fear being watched by an admin.

Abusing commands that developers put in to the game can be reason for a ban, though what is and is not abuse should first be cleared with developers.

Shortcuts are for OOC relations in my oppinion, if you use them IC, I think you cant see the difference between IC and OOC.
