What is the purpose of drinking ?

Lately I have been philosophyed about the purpose of drinking and to be quite honest I only come to the conclusion is waste of money, I can say proudly that I am not drinking and last time i've been drunk its 2 years ago and I did not enjoy it well not as it ended bad or anything I just do not find any pleasure in drinking as I do in other stuff . I've want to ask the people of Argonath some questions and I want you to answer honest :
As some of you might know I do smoke the gods of mother nature and nothing else as I think its quite normal and finds it relaxing, but as I want to ask you to find different views on it to get a better horisont about this as I never figured out why people do drink, I only came to conclusions but I doubt thats true what I do think.

Thanks for beeing honest and taking your time to answer on this questions for me as I do got many thoughts about this subject and allways had, i'm a muslim and I cannot deny that I have not been drinking but as I realised that I aint finds a pleasure in drinking I stopped drinking, I see myself as a good muslim because of that but my friends says something else.

What pleasure you find in drinking?: i drink because i like getting in the effect of beeing drunk - beeing happy and all, and i drink with friend's - mostly every friday - just to celebrate Friday  (( friday is a celebration - what russians like me believe ))

Are you drinking often ( Everyday, weekends or anything more ) ?: mostly every friday. but sometimes every 2 weeks.

How much money you use on a month when you intake alchohol in your body?: amm... well we usualy throw up on 15 lits (( for beer [ sometimes it can be vodka] + snacks )) - every time. - 1 eur. is about some 3.40 lits. - in a month i maybe can spend some 30-20 lits

and just for the record, i never drink alone.

I first started drinking when I was 14 (pretty young I guess), I always had a fun time drinking (from my point of view) but my friends told me I could get really aggresive and so this went on for almost a year till one day when I came home late, drunk (not massive drunk). I've got my mom yelling at me, wakeing up my little brother and he's watching me, crying (he was 10). I couldn't stand the image of him crying and my mom yelling so I decided to stop right after turning 15.
I'll try to answer your questions. I was drinking like once every weekend and can't really say how much money I spent, quite allot though. Drinking complicated my life at that age.. but I guess I wasen't the only one with that problem.

I'm now 16, soon to be 17 and I haven't touched alchohol since I was 15, but I probably will after moving out as it felt like.. a relief..

Thanks for beeing so honest and taking your time to answer. But i'm sorry to say what you wrote has not helped me with my thoughts here, but I just think there is something wrong with me as I feel i'm the only one that cannot find the "secret" ingredient in drinking but I can imagine having fun with alchohol with your friends just like smokin' a spliff with your mates.
And Legend I do know the main purpose of it but allthough that I want to get deeper into your thoughts.

I agree in some way with you Omri..

I started drinking when I was 12 (Yes, too young..),
At that time, I was drinking just to get drunk with friends, and get that 'drunken' feeling..
Later I realized, after looking at my alcoholic grandfather that it's not giving me that much pleasure, and I decided that I don't want to dump my life since I just started them...

I still drink, But no often at all...
Maybe once a month or anything like that, in small amounts, not till getting drunk.
Only when I'm stressed or just had a bad week and I want to get relaxed a little bit...

I'm against drinking in big amounts, that will ruin you're life..
I think, Even if it's a 13 year old boy, He can drink - As long as he knows that if he over drinks it can ruin he's life and it's not worth it.

Thats my question if you aint knew, what is the hidden pleasure in drinking ? I do not understand it or maybe i'm just stubborn and aint willing to try to understand the pleasure in drinking. How come you never has intaked any form for alchohol ?

Yeah, me too.. I havent done any coke since last week.. My hands begins to shake and I get all like.. batshit crazy over the smallest thing.. wait, are we talking about the same coke here?

Anyways.. I haven't taken a single beer in my life. Theres like 20 of them in my closet, though. Well, not for me ofcourse.. But they're "Christmas beers" and forgotten.. I wouldn't like to end up falling down the stairs drunk singing swedish folksongs infront of my parents, that wouldnt be "the shit" because I'm the "good kind of kid", you know? I never done anything "wrong" in my life.. Except for that guy that one time.. He was on to us.. what?
