The problem here is, if you are in a gang, you will have rivals and allies.
if you go and drive by somebody it is ok if you do it. but if someone else does it to you, HOLY SHIT DM DM.
seriously guys, the last few days have been hell for police, admins, gang members and just regulars are sick of /p spamming DM.

if you go to a gang fight, go to it for a valid reason of RP, not just to shoot someone down for the sake of the fun.
when you fight in gangs, EXPECT to be shot at and killed,
when you flame someone, EXPECT to be flamed back at.
because everybody is sick and tired of the pointless frowing shit of DM and flame.

as CBF wisely said; Treet them as you want to be treeted yourself.
you flame them, expect to be flamed back at.

and guys dont /report for DM and then go and kill them yourselves. you will be punhished not them.

First of all, Argonath is a RPG server. That means we give options to play different styles and characters.
However while we do not use strict rules, we feel that criminal RP should be different as the idea many have.

Gang Wars
A gang war is a large meeting between two rival groups, mafia's or gangs. The object of this is to settle a difference between them that can not be solved otherwise.
Gang wars are not permitted without strict rules.
First of all, they must be held in a place where they are not likely to meet (innocent) bystanders. Grove street is a bad locations, as many new players from other servers will go there first. On top of a hill in the desert is a better one, you can see anyone coming for miles.
Secondly, they must ave a clear and defined, big reason. That reason is not 'a member was killed yesterday' or 'we do not like you'. It can be 'the right to protect business in Grove Street' or 'placement of headquarters in LV'.
Third, it must be under admin supervision.
Fourth, those involved in gang war can not return when killed.
Fifth, once the war is over any following shooting or conflict will be seen as revengekilling/DM and is punishable.


Gang fights/shootouts
Several times a day gang member fight for almost no reason. The administration does not accept 'they killed a member yesterday, this morning, 5 minutes ago' as a reason  to load a car with gang memebers and start shooting. Unless there is a clear and valid reason as to why people meet and fight, this is seen as either revenge killing (even without the killed member present) or DM.
If administration notice several members going to the area of another gang with the purpose of fighting or provoking a fight, the provoking members will be punished.
Any complaints as that they were returning a previous provoke are invalid to escape punishment.
Meetings between gangs that end without fight are allowed.

Gang provoking
A lot of the issues come from provoking. One gang/mafia holding a 'party' on the terrain of another or driving by 100 times in order to provoke a reaction. Players caught in provoking or setting up other gangs/mafias will be punished.

What is the use of criminal roleplay ?
Ok now a lot of players will ask this. A gang or mafia is trying to build an empire and gain power, by using legal and illegal methods. That does not include hanging out for no other reason than to kill rivals that happen to be near by. When empires meet, it can cause a mass shootout, but not on a daily basis.
As we have already mentioned in our very first guide, taking the role of a criminal or murderer by 'I hate you, I kill you' is not good RP, and is not for our server.

If we spot any gang or mafia being formed for no other reason than an excuse to attack others and shoot, they can be closed after receiving official warnings.

Those who wish to play criminals are invited to bring ideas on how we can continue allowing fights between rival gangs/mafias.
But try to answer the following points:
- how to avoid constant conflicts turning the play to DM rather than RP.
- how to incorporate the element that in life nobody wants to die.
- how to stop provoking and annoying between rivals.
- how to avoid a gang disturbing the RP scenario of other gangs by an 'attack'

Thats doesn't need to be right. Did you see the Blood vs. Crips video? Blood:"Tell me man..why do we keep killing eachother?" Crip: "Colours...."  Blood:Colours?
Gangs fight over reasons, which are NOT big..but they fight for them. Representing a colour, fighting, dieing, killing for it is a normal rule of a gang.

Also, for example. Three most powerfull mafias for example: Corleone,Stracci,Gvardia.
They are strong, but how strong they would be if they dont fight with eachother? I belive it would be stronger than ARPD.

Also, if someone from an other gang is doing a drug deal etc in an other gangs territory (that's trespassing too though), the other gang will probably attack them for that. Then, after that conflict, the gangs could be in constant war, and then it's like in GTA SA Single player, they might just shoot when they see eachother.

I once heard a Blood member I think in a video saying ''when we sit outside our house and watch the cars pass by, we never know which one starts to shoot.'' What reason do their enemies have to shoot them? The reason they have is that they rep different gangs that are beefing with eachother, different colors, different hoods they are from, sometimes even cause that they have different skin colors.
 
Street gangs was started to make money actually, that's the main reason to join a street gang, to get out the hood.
But then some people don't want to get out the hood, they want to stay true to the gang and hood they grew up in.
But if everyone that RP a street gang member here wanted to get out the hood, everyone would be out by now.
So, for the gang member who wants to stay true to the set, their goal is mostly to be the most powerful gang in their area, and want to rule the streets, so that can turn out in attacking other enemy gangs just to get them away from there, so it will end up killing for colors, respect and power.

The big problems with gangs on this server no matter what you think they shoudl be able to do, is all theY do once a fight starts is claim each other dmed...

Admins then HAVE to carry out extra work JUST BECAUSE YOU THINK AS A GANG YOU CAN FIGHT AND KILL.

You want true gang warfare then STOP COMPLAINING, and this goes for the larger mafias too, your JUST AS BAD at the complaining.

Many of our more 'annoying' rules are there because the players have complained so much about it, that means YES its YOUR OWN FAULT we have these rules,

So many complaints of DM at gang fights have meant the BEST solution is to DISALLOW IT COMPLETELY, believe it or not but if you had not kept in complaining about DM making admins do shit loads of work JUST COS YOU GOT KILLED then maybe it would still be allowed.

You complaing about DM from fights then you complain about not being able to fight but just think if we let you fight you will complain about dming again, we as admisn cannot win but the rules STAND especially since complaints are on the UP about dming, provoking etc.

You want them relaxed then start to RP, start to realise that if you want to RP confrontations then EXPECT to DIE, and if you do consider it PART OF RP and not a reason to complaing and make admins do extra work.

And yes while I get more and more pissed of with the major gangs/mafias and having to investiate claims, I am not working on bugs, so its time for the Argonath Community to sort itself out cos you really suck at the moment.  Most of you seem to be self obsessed and not looking at the bigger picture of what you actions are doing for you and others.

You know CBF, I do want to be killed as I expect it when I am in a gang. And my last DM reports were for some new guys, and when a rivals of my gang come to me and start dis-respecting me, I RP just like IRL, cause I want it. And if it will cause fights, I wont report if I get killed, but I will thank both sides for having that RP. If someone whines, than he can go and f**k himself, what I say.
