My family is atheist. And right wing.
I'm excessively atheist, and excessively right wing.

Ironic, isn't it?

Roman Catholic / Atheist

I prefer to live life following my own morals as opposed to doing what some bigot tells me about some upserd rules that can't even be proved, make no sense and can't even be explained properly.

I have my own internal religion, I can't really place myself in one category. I take beliefs from many religions, such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Rastafarian, and some small ideas from Christianity. I don't believe in organized church-based religion, but I do believe in a God-like figure, or many. There can't just be one guy running it all, right? ;)

My religion is not having a religion.

Religions are mostly like AIDS, it spreads and makes most peoples life miserable... ("Holy war", "jihad", Crosswar (Korståget, christians rampage and so on) see what I mean?)
In my opinion, religion is an excuse to have something to belivie in because we want to know who created us...
I'd rather say that we occoured tru a radom occasion, that sastifies me enough to not have to belivie in something wich does not exsist, in short saying has not appeared before my eyes...

An good example is Scientology, it's not a religion as it says itself to be, it's a money printing cult... And yes I do hate them dearly.

Life has been a fucking hell recently, including accepting what has happened to me in the past. Dunno if life will ever get better but at the least I'm still hanging on. Lol.

I am more of a scientific person, which is sort of a drag because both Creationism and Evolution are flawed. Really simple actually, in Creationism, in one form or another, all that is existent was created by a super being, or multiple super beings. This begs the question, what made said "God" or "Gods"? In Evolution, all things evolved from particles that compact and eventually release in a never ending, expanding Universe, and eventually collapse because everything spreads out too far, and the process repeats, with another so called "Big Bang". Again, the question is raised of the origins of such particles and matter, which scientists, as smart as they may (think) they are, can't explain it, they can try, and they do. A famous scientist once said:
Quote
"No man (or woman) should ever leave our universities without knowing just how little he knows."

So, as far as religion, I'm totally confused, but go with my ancestors beliefs, because it offers a sense of security, and peace of mind. And, ironically, does the opposite. The idea of a supreme being having the will and power to destroy, or create anything and everything as it seems fit, is, in a respect, unsettling.

In my opinion, religion is an excuse to have something to belivie in because we want to know who created us...

Your not far off base from a lot of theories out there. Current data points that the human species was part of a freak environment where the situations were PERFECT for mental evolution. Not all scientists are Atheist, in fact, most are religious. The ones that aren't, believe that people have religions to find a sense of closure in knowing more about themselves and the history of existence. I find most people aren't 100% Creationism fanatics or 100% Evolution fanatics, most are a mixture.

You mean, you have no answer for the question: What was before singularity? As a scientist I can say "Yes there is no evidence about what was before it". Also I am the guy who is on the side of M-theory - so I say that our university started when it collided with another - parallel universum.

And we do not try to be real life, as why would you ever play real life if you have one ? We play the GTA universe, and our players should try to live in the GTA world, not the real one.

Oh please, let him express himself. That's what this thing is partly for, you know? The internets. Plus, nobody is bullshitting around here (that I see), everyone's just peacefully sharing their beliefs (atleast since the mods took care of the flaming). Live and let live, bro.

I have probably posted here already, I don't know. I'm too lazy to go through the pages, or even use the search function. Updating my beliefs isn't hurting anyone, for all I know..

I guess I have kind of my own religion.

"Take some Hinduism and some Buddhism
And you mix them up in a pot with Christianity
Sprinkle a little Atheism on top
What the f**k do you got?"
Well.. You got.. My twisted thoughts about.. everything..

I believe in karma, the what goes around comes around stuff, I believe there is a place for us to go when our time here is over to meet all our fallen relatives and friends (and anyone els, I guess)..  I believe in A GOD, because honestly, the whole big bang theory doesn't make much sense to me. Perhaps I'm too dumb or something, I don't know. Oh, and by in A GOD, I mean somebody, somewhere watching us - not the god portrayed by the bible. May sound like a case of paranoia, lol.

Sometimes under class in school I just sit at my bench and think about atoms and our planetary system. To me they look pretty much alike. Like if we were a part of an even bigger universe, you know? Maybe the small atoms around us is small planetary systems, just like our planetary systems would be to *someone els*. This thinking is not good for my grades. I've actually thought about this for very long time (I guess I don't have a very exciting life), before I even bothered to google it (which was aboouut... Five minutes ago). Anyways, I think it's quite interesting to think about it. It's a shame I suck so bad at science.

I just threw some of it out there, and some of it may don't make any sense because.. Well.. I wrote it.. And it's just some random thoughts, stuff that came up while I was writing.. DONT BLAME MEH

Just incase if someone decides to get pissed off by my post.. It's just what I believe, it's just what I think.. It isn't (necessarily) "real" or the "truth"

Yep, it's kinda mixed and all in a mess, but it'll do. I got some Battlefield 2 to play before I go to sleep.

EDIT:

I don't know if this has to do with religion, but I read Jubin's reply about parallel universums; Quantum physics is the f**king sex to read about. Just to let y'all know. LOL

As much as I'd love to respond, I'll have to opt out as it'll only lead to an argument and apparently, this isn't the right place.

To update my status, I'm now atheist/Roman Catholic atheist/Christrian agnostic.

You raise an interesting point. Scientists are able to accept, that because no confirmable evidence exists, that they have no real idea what came before. Similar for the people of faith. Also, Evolution and Creationism are related in sort when it comes to dispute. People of different faiths dispute about how super-human beings are, and how the Earth and all above it came to be. That can be seen in this topic, people have different religions. Scientists are known for disputing each others theories. Until it can be proved, confirmed, and documented, there is always some dispute about it. Its actually pretty funny and in a sort ironic.

I don't know if this has to do with religion, but I read Jubin's reply about parallel universums; Quantum physics is the f**king sex to read about. Just to let y'all know. LOL

I always found the idea of the Quantum Theory to be intresting, just read some books about it, the ones that get deep into the way matter is assembled and all the expert text books. It will give you a lot to think about. Thats what I love to do.  :D
