Dialog with the Owners

The Owners granted Argonath Express, a media group, an interview sometime in 2007 / 2008. If I remember correctly, at the time, Gandalf and Aragorn were in their late 30's. That places them at 40 / early 40's by now, enough to be literal fathers to the vast majority of this community.

Many veterans who grew up in this community, starting out in high school (or before, like myself) and are now finishing University, or are already in the working class. (One of our former younger Devs, who I will not name, even got married a year or two ago.) Many of us have also left for real life reasons other than boredom. I could only imagine what RL demands the Owners have in store, so we should be grateful Gandalf still shows up a lot.

I'm curious about one thing though. Will we be seeing a Reunion for the 10th Anniversary, 2 months from now?

I'm 18 now, started playing when I was 11, I've been on here for most of my childhood, in a few years it will be half my life.

A 10 year anniversary would be great, to see the many old faces that faded away, one that I'm keeping alive with my name IG, where the hell is GiacJr? Pancher? cDa? IcyAreo? Man I would love to see everyone back online if only it was for a day.

Do you like how the server has turned since 2006? Oh, and will there be any higher staff member called Bilbo(he is in the Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings, so, he is related to the theme of the game). Oh, and will there ever be an improved page layout for smartphones?(it's quite hard to write a topic or a reply on a phone right now ). Oh, and do you, the highest members of Argonath(Sauron, Aragorn and others) actually still like playing in Argonath? I would like to know also why do some people not listen to lower staff or no staff members at all(I like to talk on the forums, but, usually, no reply comes back). But, if there is some talk to Ninda(who is in the IV:MP staff) or to Joey_Lucchese or to some old member, everyone replies in seconds. I want to ask why?

First the LOTR names are a bit legacy, not really something you seen done anymore here. These names are assigned personally by Gandalf based on the assigned person's personality.

There won't be an improved layout for the forums unless someone wants to redesign the entire forums. While a totally new forum theme is not something I would be against, it would need to be custom and not some shitty nulled or free copy, or even paid for.

Sauron does not play. Aragorn does not play. Legolas does not play.  Gandalf does not play.

Well, for example, I make an idea topic for the IV:MP server(regarding the phone command), I get around 30 views and no reply. Then, I reply asking "Why doesn't anyone say anything about this command?" or so. The viewers go to around 70. Then, I get a reply from Markk, who says

Fact is, don't get offended, you sound pretty weird almost everytime someone talks (writes) to you.

Anyway this is not a bad idea but not really necessary at moment.

Oh, and that not everyone bothers to reply. But they "bother" to reply to other players.
For example, at KaspeeersLV's topic regarding renting rooms, nobody complained to him to being "weird", it had 5 replies and 235 views and important players supporting his idea, others telling him that the "House Stamp" exists for a reason(150 thousand $ for a piece of paper? ). So, here is just a piece of proof. Oh, and the other day I PM-em Senate regarding something that would improve the taxi driver job(adding all the taxi types in the IV:MP server). He read my PM. I know he is busy and all, but, when he came in the server, he was spawning boats and black cars and spawinng trucks and so. After he left, I didn't see any cab improvement, change/adding. So, the question is: If they think that I am "weird"(which is wrong to make people "normal"/"weird"), then, why don't they ban me already?

Look mate, I know this is a "dialogue with the owners," but some of what you're saying can be answered by most community members.

We've all had forum topics with no responses. Just because we individually feel strongly about a point or idea doesn't mean that it holds the same priority to everybody else. It's not something normally discussed or commented on, because it's a forum and it's to be expected that some topics get more responses than others.

In terms of PMing people, just because you're not in a conversation doesn't mean somebody else isn't either. You can keep track of one conversation, two conversations, maybe even three. But when you're got multiple conversations, in multiple "chat modes," with different people, some being totally different subjects, or even similar ones (which makes it more difficult to differentiate the conversations), it can be very difficult to keep track of them.

Personally I view post the topics in "unread topics," every time I join, but I only respond to those I'm interested in. Now considering a large proportion of the player base is primarily SA:MP based (and a lot of New Dawn players too), a lot of those players may read your topic, but have no input as it's not a server they play on.

Oh, and putting your text massive and in bright green is going to put people off posting. If you want to instigate a conversation around a particular topic, type out a well thought out argument to your point, with supporting evidence/situations where the idea would benefit the server, and if the idea is good, and your argument is valid, then by default you'll get constructive replies.

I am sorry to bump in like that, but, I think that the safety and quality time spent here are important for an average user, so, I think this site should become secure and have a mobile phone port of the site.
