12. What is your character background/history? My name is Karl Remitae. I know, it's a weird name. But it's catchy. Easy on the tongue, as they say. I lived life casually in Vice City. Had friends, nice easy job, a cool apartment in Vice Point, yadda yadda. That all changed though. I was walking home from work a couple of years ago, it was really dark. I think it was around 9:30 PM, but I'm not sure. I had that feeling you get when you feel like you are being watched. I turned around and saw someone further down the path walking in my same direction. I continued walking nervously, but then looked around quickly to find the man running towards me. I think he had a knife or a blade of some kind in his hand, sprinting towards me. I quickly ran into an alley to get home, and managed to lose the guy. I threw myself onto the couch in a slump in loss of breath from all the running. I heard knocking on the door just outside, and tried to be as quiet as possible. The knocking got louder and louder, until a knife sliced straight into the door, without any splinters appearing. A clean swipe. I threw myself into the garbage vent in the wall of the apartment just as the door burst down off its hinges. I got a quick look of the guy running into the apartment as I went into the vent, it was the same man chasing me before. Crashing into the garbage bags down at the bottom of the apartment block, hurting my back and running away as far as possible. Luckily, I had my wallet on me. I ran to the 7-11 down the road, and bought a bottle of water to replenish my thirst after all that running. The guy at the counter looked at me oddly though, because I had a banana peel in my hair and I never noticed. Caught a taxi, and headed down to the airport. I had to get out of this city, someone is after me and I don't want to die this way. I ended up in San Andreas. Sadly, my credit card wasn't heard of in this place, so now I got no cash, no place, no friends, and no job. I smiled to myself. I can start my life again.
