Figure out where he has gone (even better any information that could get me in contact with him, IRL) but you need to put in some kind of role-play story to go with it. (Just so that you don't go ingame and say oh James is home watching TV (e.x.)

He's in the Army right? If he is there's a good chance he's gone on a tour of duty or just training. It's a time consuming job as the training also takes a lot of time. Thats just what I think!
