We didn't have problems like that when homosexuality was brought up at my school.

Me neither, infact, everyone seems to be pretty mature about the topic.. surprisingly lol
Theres only 1 person in my year who has told me he is a homophobe, all he said was that he doesnt agree with it. Most of my friends know about my sexuality, and none of them are like 'z0mgwtfbbq'. Sometimes I think Im one of the lucky ones  :conf:

Boy im gonna miss that school.. Ive finished it and Ive got college in a few months. And I hope things will be okay there aswell..

Yeah, thinking back I think the guys at my school were pretty mature about it too. We didn't have people randomly laughing and interrupting like in Oliver's example.

I suspect some teachers are homophobic anyways, laughing when the gay topic is brought up and stuff, that really makes me mad.

Yeah students would be childish, they need to crack down more on homophobia in the schools and make a bigger deal out of it.

I have a friend who is bisexual and goes to my school. One day I saw another friend who is in another school which is completely different to mine (mine is a private school, his is a state school) and I brought my bisexual friend along. I for one don't think anything of my friend being bisexual, but when my other friend met him he was disgusted by him. Of course my friend was offended, so I talked to the guy and asked what was wrong. He said something along the lines of:

"Why do you hang out with a fag? Don't he and you get beaten up all the time?"

I was generally quite confused...until he realised that he was bisexual, he liked him...so why is he insulting him? Furthermore, why would him and I get beaten up? What have we done?

I asked him these questions, he said that his family and friends are all homophobic and goes to a school where there are NO known gay or bisexual people because they fear the other people there...

Know what happens when someone is found to be gay or bisexual at my friend's school? They get a load of guys together and beat them senseless, sometimes with weapons while shouting "die fag". Also, if there are straight people who hang out with gay or bisexual people they are known as "fag lovers"

This just shows the differences in tolerance towards homosexuality as a whole. Not only do I accept their presence in society but I am actually confused as to how people can be homophobic...they aren't doing anything. I think it's down to the background which we grow up in. I am growing up in the "right crowd" which is very strict on equality. My friend is from a group of people which are not so politically correct. To be honest I think this is down to class...

My friend also said things like "there is this black guy at school we all make fun of, it's so funny seeing his reaction" which just shows the level of disrespect towards other people in the crowd he lives in. My step father recently was in court because he fired a black person from his company and he complained that it was because of race. This is how serious things can get

If I beat up a black person in my community it's not just seen as assault but as a racial attack, but my friend lives where if he were to beat up a black person the charges would be less harsh

It doesn't matter what kind of people we talk about, there will ALWAYS be differences in attitude towards them, mainly because of what we're taught by friends and family and actually at school

I have no problems with gays and bisexuals, the decent ones at least... it's the gays who go around touching handsome guys' chests and crotches that really freak me out.

The most important part is interacting with others and meeting people from around the world.

Same here. Those gays/bi who go touch around everyone acting like a desperate pervert ass dog, makes me go crazy too.

But the decent ones, I don't have ANY Problem with, Infact, They can be even my friends, No probs.

Resumed in a thing: Homophobia is the most inmature and retarded thing, Just like Racism and nazism.

Also, I CAN Predict, In those Homophobe crowds, Inside those, There are one or two who has bisexual/gay tendencies. But they hide it.

Also, In the eyes of those bullies David describes about, Then I consider myself a "fag lover" :trust: (Sarcasm)

What about the guys who go around groping at the girls?

Yea, I hadn't seen any either. Or the thing you said.

In all honestly, the thought of having sex with a man is quite, disgusting/creepy. (I apoligize if I possibly offended anyone, no offence is intended.)

However.. I have no real issues with gay's/bi's, unless they, well.. 'advertise' their sexuality. If they're one of these 'advertisers', then I think of them as.. stupid.

By 'advertising' their sexuality, I mean people who go around saying "I'm gay, and f**k you!! You can't change me for shit!"

In my opinion, the decent kinda gay/bi would be someone like MikeUK(Lilac). (Does not mean the rest of the gay/bi community is not decent.)

All of this is my opinion, it's no fact.

A lot of it is homophobes:
a) Don't understand homosexuality.
b) Are homosexual but can't accept it and try to cover it up by being homophobic.

I understand the people who dislike gay or bi people advertising their sexuality, but I myself am just curious to know who else is gay or bi, so I dont mind a tad bit of advertising, or atleast.. signs.

Dunno why, I just like to know who is.

But what I dont like so much is hugely advertising, by doing everything 'to the book' of stereotypes. Now THATS advertising..

Also, ive brought this up many times before, but ill say it again. To those who dont understand why there is 'pride' or whatever in gay and bi people, is not because they feel that they are special somewhat (bs ). But its just they are proud of who they are, and have been brave enough to come to terms they are gay/bi. I know thats why I have that sense of pride.. im proud that I havnt hidden myself.. havnt 'faked' that im straight. Ive gone through so much to get where I am now, and im proud of that.
And im sure its the same with other gay/bi people.. we have to go through so much SH*T that straight people just dont understand.

So for you straight people, your the average people, and dont have to go through so much cos your the dominant. We gay/bi people have to go through so many stages, acceptance.. coming to terms with yourself.. and coming out to friends and family. I think we deserved to be proud of that. Because coming to terms with your sexuality is a BRAVE thing, and that alone deserves Pride even.
