Well then you shouldn't let your child out to play at all, because man and women will kiss outside wether you like or not, nor you should kiss your wife infront of your 5 year old child. All those things have something to do with sexuality.

1) Yes, but if he sees his mom and dad kissing, he will say: They are marryed.
2) If he sees, man and women outside kissing, he will "guess" that they are husband and wife ( rimember 5 years children are more then naive)
3) If he sees gay pride parade, he will constantly ask question: " What is this about?", and the only way to answer him truthly, is to explain him homosexual sexuality. -thats the prob. Its Sexuality, not kissing, or huging etc etc.

Hmm.. to Cof's original large post - I see what you mean, and I do understand. But there are many sides to this:

Ofcourse, like you said 'why arnt there straight parades, or whatever', because there is no point in this.
But you have to remember, before that there used to be many civil parades all over the world, or whatever they are called, and this is very like a 'straight parade'. Its celebrating the people, and who they are.

Now I know you said that just because of 'pride' we dont deserve parades, well, okay then ignore the whole pride topic. Parades are also just a get toghther, a place to just have fun. There are parades of different kind all the time, just for fun, you know? So why not a parade for this. But I still think that parades are mainly due to the fact that we 'less dominant' so we deserve a little of our own space, no? And, this leads me to my next point..

With the whole topic of parades, there is acceptance and equality. Ofcourse, that is what we want.. equal rights. Parades are also to show this, they arnt just for gay people to prance around holding a 'PRIDE' flag. Many, MANY activists, and non-gays/bis attend these parades just for fun, and equality.

And yes, I know we do want to be equal, and as you claim 'how are you different' I do agree with this, totally. But I think I misphrased myself, I mean that straight people are the dominant, and there are many people who are still pretending to be straight rather than come out because they are affraid of not being accepted.


To conclude, I think Parades have many reasons just to show-off or whatever.. Reasons such as to protest for equality, activists, general fun, to meet people etc etc. And many more reasons. Compared to the idea of other parades, there ARE 'other' parades.. there are 'country parades' to celebrate the country and kings/queens. There are sports parades, especially after the world cup football. And as for chuck norris and the others.. well, I dont think so lol, but you never know.

I never wanted special rights for gay or bisexual people, I believe we should be treated equal, and here in America that is not true. Besides the way some people treat the LGBT community, there are also laws that are bullshit. A same sex couple is not equal to a opposite sex couple, they are not allowed to marry (state levels...) or recieve health benefits and all that stuff. Personally I never really want to get married, I don't need a title to say that I love another person but I would like to recieve the benefits of being a unioned couple.

But atleast we are not in countries where homosexuality is illegal and you can be killed for it. In Jamaica homosexuality is illegal and people are beat and killed for it.

I don't see how you tie in equal rights with public bragging and asking for media attention. Does this mean that a straight couple is bragging just to get attention when they get married, let alone simply having civil rights and even if so, what is against a gay couple doing the same?

I didnt say that exactly, I said that Civil Parades or whatever they are called are like/similar to straight parades.
They are celebrating people, and towns people, etc. But I do not mean this litrally, as in.. Civil Parades arnt 'straight parades', Im just using it as a comparison.

Well i dont know about you, but i sure dont want my kid to have full sexual education, on the age 5. Its like telling him there aint no Santa Close, no Farytales etc etc.

Childrens shoud stay in imagination,  at least till they start going in school etc.

About Parades, i just dont suport them, its NOT even in the interest of GBLT populations to have them, cause it only makes MORE diference betven Straight and Homosexual people. The diference that you are fighting to cancel.

We really arnt forcing you to tell your children about sexuality or sex at the age of 5.. no one is forcing you to.

And, no one if forcing you to attend any Gay parades, they are there, and they will continue to be there. Yet they are open to everyone.
If you dont like them, dont attend. Simples (as the meerkat on that advert in the UK would say).

Parades are parades, you can have a parade for anything. They are for entertainment, fun, etc etc. There are many types of parades of all different kinds.. from the weird, to the wonderful. So why not have a gay parade?

Im not trying to change your views or anything, im just responding to you, comparing.. if you know what I mean.
If you dont like these parades, its up to you, dont like them.

That is absolutly true, in 1920s America.. a time when Black people were totally outcasted by all white Americans and absolutly looked down on.

But they had pride in who they are, they had celebrations away from the white man, they had similar 'parades' not so much like todays but in a way.. more like celebration gatherings.

They were different, and they were outcasted, but they were happy for who they are. Even though they were outcasted.
