Hes saying that if your country just won a war for example, and all the troops/soldiers are back home. Everyone who fought and got back alive would be proud for fighting for their country and winning. Ofcourse there would be a parade here too..

Cofi, I absolutly understand what your point is - you dont like advertising of the LGBT community, and you dont like it when they seek attention etc etc.

But what im not understand is what part you have to play in it, if you dont like parades, dont attend/watch them. They are here to stay no matter if they are setting the differences, because their whole purpose is for pride, fun, and entertainment.
Parades are not stopping equality I dont think. Its actually the media and religion I blame for the difficulty in equality.

But come on, parades are parades. Heck Argonath is having a parade for its 3rd anniversary. My point is, its to celebrate proudness (for Argonath, the pride that its been around for 3 years), for fun, for entertainment, and more!

I think its just another prejudice, out of all the many. Its like saying all straight couples meet in bars, its not something they all do. But I guess some would. In my personal opinion, I dont really think its 'socially acceptable' cos its the freakin toilet for goodness sakes   ewwy ewwy. Also, I really dunno why people think this. Ive actually seen the PM (sorry Heat) and Im gonna actually agree with Hircine.

To extent though, because I know the middle east isnt entirly like this. But for goodness sakes, some people take religion too bloody far.

This question seems to pop up so many times in this thread, and all I can say is that for the most part - we arnt acting different. But some want to be different , which I know isnt good for equality or whatever. But for example the camp look, its far from mainstream, but some people just want to be unique.

I cannot stress this enough, most Gay/Bi people look/speak/act the same as straight people.

And, for the reason why there arnt 'Straight Groups/topics'.. I dont even know why this question is being asked, cos isnt it obvious? Could just be me, cos I see the answer as quite obvious. Someone said earlier about how there are black music celebrations/festivals. And then if someone says.. why isnt there a white music celebration/festival.. well, just doesnt make sense. Because a 'white music celebration' is just celebrating the dominant.

And, the other thing you mention. We arnt 'giving it fame' or making it seem 'so important', we are having a discussion, simple. Some people actually like discussing this specific topic, so whats wrong with it? If you wanna open a discussion about cheese, go ahead, if you wanna make a discussion about Mr T, go ahead. No one is stopping you. All this topic is, is just a discussion on a topic that is still quite taboo in many places.

As when it comes to Argonath, you LGBT community have all the same rights as everyone else doesn't even matter if you are married or not.

But lot's of people actually never had respect for this kind of people.
By making this kind of topic, we could see who are like this...

They can stick up together, help eachother etc..

Absolutly. And I think that this topic has corrected the prejudices and stereotypes from before.

Can I say that this topic has made people understand more, the whole topic of LGBT? And made people realise its not 'weird' and we dont all act the same etc etc

This post is the answer of your question toward me^. I do mind gayparades cause of personaly opinion, but my personal opinion was not the subject of my sentence, i was writing from a neutral angel all this time.
From a neutral angle also, its not that i dont need to atend does parades what was my issue or my disliking the whole Media seeking thing, its  the stuff Vu4eCa wrote.

@Hircine How can generalised people like Heat, just cause he is from Midle East ( or w/e is the guy from ) ? I see you have a prob when people generalised you like a pink T-shirt, tight white Jeenns, with a "urban" haircut guy, just cause you are homosexual. So why do you treath other people in the way, you woudnt be like treathed?

With all due respect, I really dont think Hircine intended to generalise the whole of the middle east as homophobic but mearly saying that many people in that region are because its an area where religion is a strong point.

Also, it is true that many people in the middle east ARE homophobes. Heat himself, told me this.
He told me that if you came out and said you were gay, you would get beaten up, outcasted and even possibly killed.


I really do not think Hircine intended to make it seem like a racist remark or whatever, but just emphasising that this area of the world has many homophobic people due to religion. Maybe he could of worded it better, ill give you that. But look, tbh guys I do agree with Hircine.

You know I was actually trying to defend him, as where he lives and his religion is to blame, not him as a person, he's brainwashed, and he can only find the truth himself.

Keep in mind Islam is against homosexuality and in most Middle Eastern countries homosexuality is punishable by DEATH.
