I'm not exactly into this stuff, to be honest. I mean I don't really mind if some men are shagging other men, just stay away from me. I don't really understand why homosexuals proudly go on parades to demonstrate their sexuality. I've never seen a 'Straight parade' or a 'Being Heterosexual Day'. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

I just read the comment on the gay parades, I don't like it either. And all of the gay people I know don't like it either.  It's just a select group of people who participates in these parades. Mind you, there are about 700 million gay people around the world (about 10 percent of total population, according to statistics), and I have only seen a few thousand of them participate. What's that, like 0.0001%? So I wouldn't say they represent the entire gay population.

Homosexuality is so gay
I mean, why does gay people have to walk around in parades or such. How often do you see normal people walking around in the streets sharing their heterosexuality

I don't mind people being homo and stuff, I'm okay with it but don't show it around in public and especially make parades, being a gay isn't something to be proud of.

Before I start here I'm just going to note that I am straighter than your class' one metre ruler and my points of view are from a perspective of pro-freedom and pro-choice.
Why isn't being gay something to be proud of? Although I myself think that it's not natural and you're not 'born gay', I do acknowledge that it is a lifestyle choice that is chosen by some. And as a lifestyle choice chosen by some, why wouldn't we be allowing them to live by this chosen lifestyle? Why aren't we saying "why the fuck not let them get married"? It's not going to affect you, nor me, nor anyone else but those directly involved, so what's the problem?
Do you find it disgusting when a male and a female kiss in public ? What about a female and a female ?

The point I'm trying to make...Although not natural, although not born like it, it is a choice that one consciously makes and that we, as fellow human beings, should respect, acknowledge and allow these people to live on with their lives as normal human beings. We should not deprive them of their basic human rights. Unless I'm mistaken, which I don't think I am and I don't have enough time to look it up incase I am, the UN Charter for Human Rights (Or whatever it's called) states that every human has a right to marriage - the definition of marriage is, according to google, "A social union or legal contract between individuals that creates kinship. It is an institution in which interpersonal relationships, usually intimate and sexual, are acknowledged in a variety of ways, depending on the culture or subculture in which it is found" So, why are some countries, even MINE, depriving homosexuals the right of free marriage?

You should not, by definition, be proud to be gay.
You should also not be proud to be straight, or English, or a male, or whatever else.
Pride in something you had no part in, and were born into, is illogical.

For example, I am proud of Araatus because I had a part in creating it.
I am not "proud" of being white, I was born that way.
Yes, in the common usage of the word, I could say "I am proud to be white" because, hey, I am - however logically you should not have pride in something that you were born with or into.

Oh, and also:
you're not 'born gay',

it is a lifestyle choice that is chosen by some.
