I was reading the first post and I noticed the HORRORS in trying to translate from English to Italian the ranks :S

Capo Crimini - Capo Mandamento
Constabile - Contabile
Capo Bastone - Capo Decina
Piciotto - Picciotto
Sgarrista -  ??

That's not even right though, the actual ranking system is like:

The "Famiglia" is the main cell, it takes the name from the city the mafia acts in, "Famiglia di Porta Nuova", "Famiglia di Vallabate" etc.
the Famiglia (Family) is formed of "Uomini d'onore" or "Soldati" coordinated in groups of ten by a "Capo-Decina"
The whole Famiglia is coordinated by the "Rappresentante" assisted by a "Vice capo" and one or more "Consiglieri"
The activity of the Families (Famiglie) is coordinated by the "Commissione or Cupola" in which there is one or more "Capo-Mandamento"
and there are more and more ranks..
too bad I'm roleplaying the Federal, even if I know everything about the Italian mafia, being born in the place where the mafia was born centuries ago :P
