I think the key word where is "Boat". Petey owns a car, not a boat, different engines.

and what are the main differences between boats and cars engine. gears? displacement? fuel?

well with my car and my boat(my boat is an inboard not outboard)... the only differences are:

theres no gearbox on the boat, it only has forward, neutral and reverse.
the boat engine came from a 1979 Holden V8, so theres not really much difference there
theres less wiring in the boat
theres only about half a meter of exhaust pipe on the boat, so theres no muffler, so its really loud
the boat has been tuned to have high torque as its a ski boat and needs the power to lift "fat" people out if the water.
the fuel is the same, but the boat uses more as its a 5 liter V8 and its mostly being used at high revs..

thats all i can think of atm...

 but back to my car. i am thinking of getting this head unit:

question is, do you know what you are doing to get it to sound best?

Also, id you dont get Dynamat, your car/van will sound like a big peice of Rolling ass that rattles
and im pretty sure letting the professional's install the sound system + Dynamat is better than you and your dad doing it...
