Can't start up SA:MP

Okay, I'm an old player of SA:MP I used to play on this server about a year and a half ago or two years ago, my screen name was Deathshot and when I joined fatboy rob's clan TCL Bran anyway;

When I login to SA:MP it works fine, until I get to San Andreas itself, it all works fine for a few seconds, then crashes, saying that San Andreas could not work anymore, I noticed someone else having this problem on another forum;

If it helps I'm running on windows vista (which is complete shit)
Can anyone help me please?

Try to set the compability from Vista to XP?

Umm, okay, I want to keep vista on my computer because I have some games that ONLY run on vista
