Well, at my little life, but with big experience on the street, i was, thank God, never got drunk, and i never smoked anything for long (well, i smoked a ......well, forgot the name, but a thingie with tobbaco and pipes around it, but it was once). I mostly just simply drink a bottle or two of beer and something else if i get suggested to. But i stick to never drink more than you think you're able to.

Quick side note: Kejuan was (temp/perm, make your choice...) banned about four hundred and sixty times for being drunk or under the influence of some substance while playing Argonath. I think you, FlameMan, banned him many of these times.
You should know that playing a game where you're given the opportunity to insult others while under the influence of something that turns gentlemen into wife beaters is not a smart idea.

Actually also in my country you usually get drunk while staying with friends.
But there is someone who can stand 5 beers and someone who can't.. When a friend is drunk, we won't let him go at home in these conditions. We bring him to the nearest bar and give him a bitter coffee to wake up, be sure of that. We don't want their parents to see him while drunk, that would be a shame also for us, his friends..
I even brought a 19-year-old drunk mate at home with HIS car and without license (I'm 17.. you should know in Italy you can get a license only when you are 18 ) for 40km..
I call that a respect to his life..

Aragorn is right that a person who is drunk always speaks his hearth and acts true, as he really is.
I have some knowledge of psihology and I can tell you that there is a "public boundary" in your self, which restricts you from doing certain things as fighting, flaming and telling some things to certain people. Alcohol removes that boundary...

It's okay that you got drunk for first time and acted harsh, you did not know how you are when drunk and did not control yourself. Most important is that you come up as a man and apologize to Ziad and everyone else, this is what makes it okay.
