After a while of being silent, a new update is finally here with new information on the running of The Cortez Family.  Due to the absence of Co-Leader Frederik Cortez, Amon Cortez and Donald Cortez will both be promoted to Directors and given the official template for the interview.  They will be instated as full Directors, however, till next week-end, will be acting co-leaders.  Although having the privileges of a co-leader till next week-end, they will not be allowed to fire people.  They will be given permission to give out interviews and ensure that everything is running smoothly.

The forums are also still in development, and we apologise for the prolonged waiting period.  Development was stopped for a few days due to the absence of Co-Leader Frederik Cortez, however, progress should recommence by next week-end at the latest.

John Cortez traveled to America from England in an attempt to escape from a furious Mafia.  He met a great citizen upon arrival, who turned out to be a great companion. It was these two personalities who founded the Cortez Business Group.  They began doing business trips all over America, however, things turned sour within a flash. A month passed, and John's friend betrayed him, and thus got caught by the Mafia. Almost being killed, he was lucky the God Father's female children saved him. They escaped together, as a family. John decided to go ahead and start up the family business again.  The Mafia however, was hot on his trail, and was able to find him soon enough.  The propety was burnt down, with John still inside.  His screams being heard miles away.  John passed... He had a dear son, who was born in San Andreas, and was at the age of 17, when his one and only father left this world.  His name is Charlie.  Police told Charlie what happened and so he promised his mother that he will take it upon himself to continue the business.  He promised that he will find the Mafia at all costs. ...present day... Charlie lived up to his promise, and found the Mafia.  Currently still living with the hurt of what they did to his father, he served, behind closed doors, the state of Argonath, as an F.B.I. agent. After serving for five months in the F.B.I., he left it and started the Argonath Advertisement Helping Center and also bought new business properties for the Cortez Family.  The Cortez Family is rising again...

The Cortez Family is one that is completely legit and famous for their many businesses.  Revenue comes in quite quickly as they operate mostly famous and larger businesses such as clothes shops and casinos.  Its no wonder the Cortezes can fully support themselves and live a peaceful, happy lifestyle.  Remember, it's not just about the "greens" and wearing well ironed suits.  All Cortez's are actually well respectable police officers serving the state of San Andreas to the best of their ability.

(( If you are looking to join this family, yet roleplay as a gang member, mafia, or partake in any form of illegal activity, please note, that you will not be accepted.  You are only allowed to be a part of this group if you are willing to roleplay a legit character.  It is also possible to be part of another clan/group, including, but not limited to the Argonath Veterans, Armed Limo Service and The Rockstars Clan.  Members of the Cortez Family are not allowed to join any other form of family/mafia/gang. )) -------------------- If a member of the Cortez family receives property from anyone of high ranking within the family, the following conditions must come true: The business/house/vehicle you received cannot be sold unless permission is granted from the one who gave it to you. If your income is quite low, you must take responsibility for the advertisement of your business or sell it.  When income is low, you are automatically granted permission to sell your business without talking to the leader. 30%(Percent) of your income goes to the leader.  This does not include the money which is taken from you when entering your own business If you want to trade your property with another member's property, be sure to first talk to the leader. Always provide a weekly report. If you buy a business on your own, you become the co-owner of your business, and only attain half the income. In the circumstance of selling your business, it is required that you sell it at a profit.  All the money gained from selling the business goes to the leader, unless you bought it at first on your own. If you sell your business without the leader knowing, it is considered scamming and can lead to punishment. If you steal income from the business, that is considered scamming and can lead to punishment. If a loan was provided to you by the leader, you cannot pay back that loan using your income.  That loan can only be paid back when the business is sold and the money given back to the leader.

I coded the topic several months ago, however never got about to actually posting it and getting the Cortez Family back up on it's feet.  Especially since Charlie has left, it's been pretty much dead, and I'm the only Cortez left.

Also, if you're looking for me to code a topic for you, I'm not sure if I'll have the time to do that, however, I can help you out and provide assistance where needed.  ))

The Cortez family was started up sometime in late 2008 actually, right after I came back from being inactive for approximately four to five months.  I actually stumbled across this group by mistake, as I used to use the name Frederik_Cortez ever since I joined the server back in 2007.  When I came back from being inactive, I couldn't login due to a new clan protection, and luckily enough, the founder of the Cortez Family - Charlie - was online, and bypassed that for me.  He then asked whether I'd like to become a member of the family, and so I thought rather briefly and accepted.  Then, before I know it, I become the co-leader of the family and pretty much fully trusted by Charlie in all I did.  I then made friends with the handful of active members the Cortez family posessed by talking to them in Ventrilo everyday and meeting them in-game.

So, the above was basically a quick history on the Cortez family, or actually, rather, how I found out about them and my knowledge of the Cortez family up till now.  ))

(( Thank you so much to everyone who has showed their support, especially Frank, as it means so much coming from him.  Also, I don't take full credit for this either, as Charlie was the one who originally made the content for the topic.  I basically consulted Charlie months ago on whether a new topic would be a good idea, and so I got the green light from him.  I then restructured it to be a bit more organised and corrected grammar, punctuation and other such essentials as well as adding eye-candy so to speak.  Thanks once again everyone.  ))
