It wasn't a shootout,he was comming back home after he watched a boxing match.Before that ,at his hotel an enemy gang member(crips,2pac wasn't a bloods member but he used to hang out with them) showed up,2pac and the rest of deathrow beat him up.Later that night,he got killed by some crip members,they shoot him like 4 times,his security guards and  Marion "Suge" Knight Jr. managed to survive the attack but 2pac didn't.BTW he got killed in a drive by .
