Better to close now than giving the lead to someone else that may mess up or go against the previous leader view and then the name is tainted.

Why would you close the group? If it's about the inactivity; it doesn't matter as nearly every group is inactive at this time.
I suggest you delay the closure of the group at least, to see if the future holds anything special for the Ballas...
