I was just temp-banned for 60 minutes by TeaM_Wayne for /q abuse.
Explained: I /q'd as a suspect to go to an Araatus MSN meeting. He told me this is not allowed, and I can only /q to for 'IRL issues'.

This is not a complaint, but a question. However, it will determine whether I should send an e-mail to [email protected] regarding this possible abuse.

Could someone please enlighten me on these set of rules? As I've NEVER seen this as a rule. I've always known that the use of /q as abuse can only be committed in a situation where the person who /q'd used the quit option to their advantage in-game. Wayne says that I can only /q as suspect if I have 'IRL issues'. What exactly are these 'issues'?

:conf:

Ten sample situations:

1. Your mom has a shotgun aimed at your head and telling you to get off the PC for the night or be grounded for the rest of your life.

2. School bus driver is waiting outside and will blow your head off with a Spaz Shotgun if you don't get on the bus in moments.

3. You have to go to the hospital because someone "accidentally" stabbed you with a 9-inch hunting knife, or because a relative demands your presence, on the pain of death.

4. Feds are knocking at the door shouting that they have a search warrant, you look outside the window and see attack helicopters, SWAT Vans, Army Trucks, Destroyer Tanks, Soldiers armed with M16s, and Snipers positioned on the roof of your neighbour's house.

5. You turn on the TV and they are displaying emergency routes out of your city since a terrorist plane loaded with nuclear weapons is about to crash in the downtown area.

6. The door crashes down and you see the members of your local mob enter, tie you to a chair, seal your mouth with duct tape, and carry you away to some place.

7. A zombie outbreak occurs and your door is about to break in half due to a horde of zombies attempting to get in.

8. You get abducted by aliens who are discovering the secrets of cavity searching.

9. A crazy hobo bashes down the door, runs in, takes you by the shoulders and shakes you while screaming "THE END IS HERE!!!"

10. You look at your calendar and the date is December 21, 2012

FFFFFS, I HAVE TO STAY ON ARGONATH ALL MY LIFE NEXT TIME I'M SUSPECT D:

srs:

IRL Issue: Basically anything in real life that makes you have to go outgame.

So, like... when I'm a suspect, I can't /q if I'm going to stay at my PC after /q'ing unless I surrender/die? WTF D:

I'm pretty sure that you can quit as a suspect if you aren't in any roleplay situation... But seems admins have a different vision on it, so I can be wrong.

There is no official rule on /q-ing as a suspect. Those who abuse /q just to gain advantage for Cops can easily be spotted and punished.

I guess that solves it.

Well, I wasn't temp-banned for that. I was temp-banned because I'm not allowed to /q unless I have 'IRL issues'. :/

IMO it should be alright to do it as long as cops are not chasing you or have you surrounded. Like if you're in the middle of the desert with cops nowhere around, then I think it should be okay to /q.

I think /q to avoid arrest should only be punished.

The information in my last post, was from the Admin Forums, where Gandalf clarified to the entire team the said rule.

If an Admin has a different view, feel free to discuss it with him.

Aslong your "/q" suppose to be your actual leaving of the game for a period, it's oke in my opinion.
As you did not "abuse /q" to just return after it to get advantages on the cops, but you had another matter, that needed you to /q.

Therefor, I do not understand why you got tempbanned.
Anyways, if you have complaints, report it to [email protected]

You abused /q yesterday more than 2 times as well..
How can you call it "special circumstances" when you abuse /q like every single time when you are a suspect?
Interestingly, you used /q when cops approached you..

o.O?

Im getting suspicous...

But i believe that if such events occured to wash, then i think that should not be classed as /q abusing.

If I need to go then I'll go. If people moan and I get banned, fuck it. Real life is more important than SA-MP after all.
