Problem with Colin Mcrae Dirt 2

Erm... It has for real the best graphics I've ever seen... but the problem I got is.. that once the person/camera or the view goes "inside" in the cabine.. i get about 3-6-10 FPS Hardly... and once it's outside and on race I get 35-50FPS...... means it lags badly through it loads less things inside..... Any reason?

I'm running it on

1680 x 1050
8x MMSA
VSync ON
Graphics Pre-set on High.... (It kinda lags on Ultra  ... it's just 10-15 FPS less)

Can anybody help?

So, it laggs bad when its in the car, but not when outside?
Im not on SA:MP right now because im downloading Dirt 2 on STEAM

Maybe its just a viewchanging shortlag? As in after a few secconds of inside view it will smoothen out? OR maybe you want to tweek your graphics while inview till you get a better frame rate. This is one very weird problem ^^

The cabinet view in the game is really highly detailed, lower your graphics and it wont lag.

My FPS raises when I have camera inside of the vehicle... :o

Everything maxed out
VSync off.

FPS when camera is behind the car is around 50-60, inside it's stable 60  :trust:

Guys you read all wrong??

I get about 40-50 FPS == ULTRA GOOD when racing - and outside the Cabine... where you have "Options - My Rides - Race/View".. and when I'm inside: "Quit - Multiplayer - Dirt Tour - Extras" < In this menu is that I get 3-6 FPS....

Game runs Normal on racing and on 2nd menu after you go outside the door.... but it lags inside... not on racing..


Tried all... lowered and did pre-set on Ultra Low.... lowest Resolution.. and still it lags on that menu....... but it's kinda unbelievable since when your inside it doesn't need to load a lot of objects.... and it does the opposite of normal... if my pc was not that good.. it should normally not lag inside that has less objects and it should lagg outside that has to load huge amount of objects on Ultra High Settings....

but what the...


A friend told me that if I switch the VSync off it could help the inside menu lag... but no change....

Also had this problem, if you got ATI video card, update with the newest driver and it will work.

Sorted it out

Thanks to AMD Website... this problem was reported by a lot players so AMD got new drivers out..

problem was that ATI Crosfire wasn't enabled inside the cabine :P now that it is.. game runs normally everywhere

Your saying you have two ATi video cards in CrossFireX?
