I am buying a computer from Dell. Most preferably the Dell XPS 9000.

But what I would like to know is what is better:

nVidia GeForce GTX260 1.8GB GDDR3 or 1GB GDDR5 ATI Radeon HD5770

thanks

It allows Aliens to take over your computer and watch space porn.

That's a nice computer!

I believe the i7 Processor is newer than the Quad processor.

It adds some new functionality and one function is pretty cool:
Turbo boost - The proccesor automatically overclocks if it can

For gaming I recommend Intel i5

Well for that PC I have this custom line up for it:

EDIT: I hate the stupid bug on the forum. Doesn't save the entire post:

[code]
PROCESSOR   Intel

It allows Aliens to take over your computer and watch space porn.

It depends if the price difference is worth it, also the speed of each processor.

Pretty good setup there Josh, looks great and im sure you wont have isues with it,
 just 1 thing,
Check the Price difference between the GTX260 and the GTX280, see if you can get the GTX280 rather since you wont upgrade for a while and you are better off rather getting the 280 because its more powerfull and will last much longer.
The price gap between the 260 and 280 isnt to large anyway.

I would personally recommend Blu-Ray supported Optical Drive, because Blu-Ray discs are not far and these might be used soon, so you don't need to upgrade. But it is your choice.

The same question I asked myself I believe the i7 or i5 are better because they are quadcores but they have some technology in them that make the better but i'm not sure.

I don't think you will be able to run GTA SA on high settings but otherwise a good computer to watch movies and surf the internets on

You could drop one of the RAM packets, you won't need 6GB with Windows 7... you could spend then the extra for looking, if possible for the new i5 -processors.

6GB RAM is kind of too much, 4GB would do it.

And yes ATI for the win. ;)

If you want buggy as hell drivers, get ATi. I would recommend you wait for the first 300 series NVidia to come out. Then you will really be able to kick some ass!
