Go to start > run and type 'msconfig' (without the 's), an go to the startup tab. You can close all the unneeded programs from opening at startup. Also, a defragment wouldn't hurt.

Hes using Norton AV, which in my opinion is a resource hog., but it works fairly well, i have to agree.

And by the way, dude, ur computer is infected. I recognised one worm directly, that regscan.exe is a virus. Heres the description of regscan.exe

"regscan.exe is added by Trojan.W32.Rbot. It is a worm which attemps to spread via network shares. It also contains backdoor Trojan capabilities allowing unauthorised remote access to the infected computer. If found on your system make sure that you have downloaded the latest update for your antivirus application. This process is a security risk and should be removed from your system."

Dude !! Dont go so hard on urself. LOL
As far as i know, wuauclt.exe is not a virus, it shows up in Task Manager, when Windows is updating. And ctfmon.exe is not a virus either, im sure u have Microsoft Office installed, this belongs to them. I hate daemon tools, most of them comes with virus in it. Its better to burn the files in dvd discs instead of mounting them on daemon tools.

I would suggest u not to mess with the registry until and unless u're sure of what u r doing. Anyway, u type regedit in Run if u wanna check ur registry keys.

The most important thing is to keep ur system up-to-date. Get windows update, ur latest AV updates, and so on.
