What can we RP?

Well today, with the newly added Ranchers, I went on cop duty. I thought we could RP anything, with good intentions. I used a FD rancher, unknownily cops  couldn't use it. I RP'ed being an FBI agent. i can see how this is taken as impersonation, but that was not my intention. I just wanted to RP a FBI agent. I was soon suspected for FBI impersonation by MatrixBob. I was then told you can't use FD cars on duty as a cop. I was killed after a brief chase. I remember from earlier that an Army/Civil rancher was sitting at Area 51. I went there to check it out and found it. I got in, and it read owner: [State]. Now, thinking anyone must be able to drive this, I took it and went to a car dealer and did /paintcar 0 0. This made it black so I could, once again RP. I went near ARFD, and this cop shot me, I reported and an admin came. He checked it out and went away, the man wouldn't get out so I PM'ed the admin and said "Can this guys stay in this car?" Again, the admin came back and got in. He asked me where I got my car and I answered Area 51. i started driving towards area 51 to prove it spawns there for the Army/Civils. The admin left me with two choices. get cop banned or give it up. I needed to prove my point so I continued to area 51. I arrived there and was kicked out of the car and cop-banned. I got back in( I know it wasn't a smart thing to do) and respawned it. It respawned as usual back at Area 51, I re got in it and it still read Owner: State. Since,  I am/was in the uSAA, I figured I could drive it. Here I am now doing this. I really thought we could RP anything with good intentions.

Well, acting as FBI is really seen as impersonating the FBI.
That administrator should have not punished you in case the car you got spawns for everyone to use, so I'd advice you to send the story, with names to [email protected]

Until I hear otherwise anyone can use ranchers.. they are state owned, theres no restriction on them, and this is what the problem is.

You can't roleplay things anymore without people "suspecting you for impersonation", or you getting kicked. It's honestly sad. If people would just go along with things and have fun instead of worrying about who is kissing ass and who is moaning... the server would be a lot better, like it used to be...

I agree, I thought in Argonath we could RP whatever the f**k we wanted to. Today I've seen people being suspected for impersonating SWAT/FBI left and right, it's honestly ridicolous.

If they manage to get their hands on that ONE state owned Federal Rancher, who are we to tell them no? It's a ROLEPLAY server.

Argonath's vision was to be a free, non-strict RP server, to do basically whatever you want, as long as it abides by the rules. Pepper was denied such, and was as a result, cop banned, and denied, as previously stated, his free right to roleplay.

 I don't know about this I just know that while on duty you were not allowed to use the ranchers or else you would get cop banned

Argonath still is a Free RP Server, although there are limits as well.

You can RP an FBI Agent, but do not get surprised if you are suspected for impersonation (assuming you are not part of the official FBI), as FBI is one of the few roles on the Server that is limited.

Well, just do what everyone else does. Gather others with who you want to RP and go around as CIA, Interpol, KGB, or creepy Agent Smith-looking people. It's what I did when I was new to SA:MP.

FBI Agent RP is not just about fun and pancakes anyway... although there are times I wish it was

Just because developers said you may RP anything you want.... does not mean you may invite yourself into a group. This is no different than getting a car from Gvardia HQ, getting a mafia skin, and drive around town claiming you're a hardcore Gvardia mobster. I doubt Gvardia will be happy with you if you do that. Wanna be an FBI agent, and drive FBI ranchers? Apply for FBI.

Now what developers meant by this is the following:
You don't need scripts to be a farmer. You don't need scripts to be a car salesman. You don't need scripts to be a clerk at a gas station, and so on.

However, jobs and occupations that REQUIRE scripts.. will have some limitations. You will be required to get the job / occupation before you can do anything with them.

Now honestly... it does not matter whether you get suspected or not for impersonating a federal agent. Why? Because no one will believe you. If you are a civilian and have a white name... you will probably be asked to show your badge (which will make your name blue) when you say you're a federal agent. Especially if they've haven't seen you before. And remember, everyone can use /rank.

So really, no one HAS to suspect you, even though they can.
