Roleplay, Argonath's main problem...

You will say "Why?", of course I have a reason. The Argonath's main problem is ruining Roleplay, so I made a list of reasons why roleplaying is ruined.

1. OOC Chat, It is because it helps you communicate with the world but IRL you can't at the same time, if you want to OOC Argonath has /id and /pm. I want OOC to be closed to improve roleplay. Most of the people will say no but no other RP server has OOC chat always open, if you don't want to close it atleast put [OOC] before it. OOC also helps cops to find criminals names easily.

2. Newcomers to Roleplay, I don't want to advertise but LSRP has a system that asks you questions controlled by admins. It asks game rules, RP terms etc. It should be used in Argonath too and/or a tutorial IG that tells you everything about the game and RP.

3. Deathmatching and Revenge Killing, Those are the main problems too for example, you are kidnapping and a cop finds your home, he goes in kills all of you and exits there as nothing happened! This ruins the fun and RP, doesn't it?

Those are my reasons, I have plans to form a "experts only" RP gang, PM me for details and I think you can find loads of more reasons and agree with me.

1. We believe that our players have enough common sense to distinguish what is the difference between rp and rl talk. Doubt that one wouldn't understand the difference and run around in circles if [OOC] is not written there. If needed, use brackets to show that your chat is not in RP.
No other rp server has /p...so what? I have said it before, I will say it again - that /p is the reason why almost al of us are here. All of us began with asking for help. And /p has been the main source of it. It is like being born and throwing your parents in a trash can when you say that you want /p removed....

2. For such narrow mindedness, I hardly have an answer. Did you think about this when you joined?
This server is for fun. Anyone can join and stay as long as they abide by rules...
Some may not know but most of our players and admins help new players out a lot. No tutorial is needed, in fact, new chaps would prefer a human talking to them than have a 10 minute video on how to use brackets...Everyone is free to join - people who know little english, people new to the concept of RP, everyone. If you try to make this a strict RP server with very z0mg terms, you will fail miserably.

3. What is supposed to happen in a kidnap situation? Get cash from cops and decide not to give it back? Kill the hostage and 20 cops while being holed up and say "PWNED" for 20 minutes? Did you know that almost all cases of kidnap in real life the kidnappers either die or go to jail with no cash being received? If a cop sees that you are kidnapping someone he will try to stop you...Do not say that he is not roleplaying when he is trying to save the life of the hostage and put the bad guys in their coffins.
Honestly, how often do you think you would give up the moment a cop enters? Do you think you wouldn't have yourself wait aiming at the entry point and shoot a whole box of bullets at the cop when he enters?
Next time you want to negotiate...call the cops. Tell them that you want to negotiate. If you say "i have kidnapped someone, i need $$$" expect nothing but bullets in your corpse.

Just like on "other place" there can be /helpme command. And everything that /p does is ruining RP.
Ofcourse, it's fun. for everybody, so as a compromise, we should do /clearownchat and /setmainchat off command, so everyone will be Happy and no moaning about /p will occur.

One must understand that /p is the source of friendship between players...when a person asks for help and gets it, he realises that the server is friendly. Many of us have tried other servers and are not happy there, return to Argonath...ever pondered why? Many who tried to leave, come back and say the "miss the community". How was this "community" formed? Reckon you realise the importance of /p..
If you do not want to help out, don't...others will. Argonath already has the rules and basics on entry. If a new player needs it he will be helped. Removing /p is simply out of question...Argonath has its foundations built on friendship. /p has been the girder of that foundation...from MTAVC to SA:MP...

Cutter has hit the nail on the head. The foundation of RP and community spirit was built upon /p. It's unique in comparison to our competitors and allows leverage in assisting new, regular and veteran players. /p also acts as a social gateway allowing access to friends and other facilities indirectly. If /p was abolished, we would suffer from a decline in players, as we would not be able to welcome new players through our conventional means. In contrast, /p allows us to identify people who need our help and in turn are able to retain them in our community.

You should start searching for the countless topics made by people wanting all that OOC/IC stuff implemented before posting.

This won't get scripted because Argonath does not support OOC/IC officially. It is not a rule to use it. People use if it they want. If this get scripted, people will just get even more influenced with it and new player generations will completely miss Argonath's real RP style.

Jesus, either way it's so god damn easy to add two brackets before what you write. What's so hard with that?

I don't see any problems with roleplaying in Argonath.
I don't see why not having OOC supported is a problem (hell, I don't have any problems with OOC chat either, I saw somewhere in server rules that roleplaying is unlimited or something, PLUS, you ARE allowed to use it, no one forbids you).
I don't see why this help-with-admins-help command not in Argonath is a problem (it can be useful though... for rules and other questions about the server. To roleplay you learn and use your imagination).

About the third reason... When there's no choice, cops just have to storm in...

My point is that people should be free to use their roleplaying tactics (and that IS supported in Argonath), but NOT forcing others to use them (causes moaning and not pretty much friendly enviornment)
If everyone had different roleplaying tactics and everyone hated different tactics from theirs...
This server would already had been a total anarchy and an hostile enviornment between players.
