Anyone heard of the MultiAir engine that was designed by Fiat?

Already used in some Alfa's, it doesn't have a throttle..
IMO I Kinda hate these new "Electronic" powered engines.. Prefer the good old mechanics when it comes to working on engines... But the future is the future, and I guess the more advanced technology becomes the more expensive it is...

What do you think the average maintenance on this engine would cost? Expensive or cheap? Speak in general as in for most modern engines...

Hi have no direct experience with this kind of engines. I guess you're referring to the 2-cylinder 0.9 turbo, right?

I saw some reviews of 500/Panda/Mito equipped with it and it looks like it's a good engine. Fuel economy isn't really good.. it'll always be a petrol engine.. They said it's nice on a Fiat but you shall absolutely not get it for an Alfa. That'd just ruin the car.

As for the maintenance, I have no idea!

My suggestion? Go for a diesel one..

I personally, am not a fan of Fiat / Alfa / Dacia etc.. But Alfa generally does have a good history and powerful motors.. My friends Dad had the Alfa 155 2.0 16valve twin spark.. The power that thing pushed out when you had your foot flat.. Was unbelievable.

Dacia has nothing to do with Fiat Group :)

In any case, yes: Alfa are known to be stylish and quite powerful (they just have a rock-hard clutch -.-). So never get an Alfa with such engine :P

Here's my little baby;
2003 Ford Explorer, almost 250,000 kilometers on the counter ...  :roll: (yep, getting old)  does approximately 10liters per 100 kilometers (not that bad for a SUV)

Also, nice V6 engine that makes badass noise, costed me 3500$ + new front brakes set.

;)

Got a new battery today, costed me 25 Euros, closed type 5R from PL.. Although was between this and one from Bosch - open type.. chosen the closed one so I don't have to mess with the glue.. Anyways, tomorrow getting it painted to black... so I shall update with a pic by Friday...Got work to do still, but still making good progress!
