First tip, get a German car.  :redface:
Pfft... :P

In all seriousness though, gloss black paint is generally the same basic materials throughout all vehicles, aside from anti-weathering agents and color matching processes. I'm just curious as to how he has managed to keep it looking so nice for so long. Gloss black paint is incredibly hard to keep clean and shiny because it shows everything, and takes a very hard beating from mother nature.

Gloss black is one of the most difficult colours to keep in shape, it seems the previous owner of the Merc must have taken very good care of it, as well as being stored away from the weather.
Gloss black as well as dark metallic colours are some of the worst to take care of, they really need to be kept clean and protected as much as possible.
Be that with wax or quality polish, it is a must if you wish to keep the shine, and it must be polished with a dual action polisher else you will be left with swirl marks which look awful.

Great example of swirl marks before and after:

Here's a picture of my paint after a light polishing;

Awesome info! I actually wouldn't have thought of that one, because I assumed most machined waxers would be too rough. Thanks for the tip! :)

You will also notice in shops, you can get your hands on an average single action polisher for some small change, although those leave swirl marks easily.
Then you see the dual action polishers will be a fair bit more, but they're honestly well worth it.

Here's some let's call them tips on caring for black paint, and trust me, they're worth it.
On the site they mention MF often, it's Microfiber, they (the cloths/wash mitts) cost a small penny but they also help to protect the paint, and never use the same cloth on for the wheels/dirt/clean paint of course.

Money to fill up a car maybe not.. but money to fill this bike sure I have! It only needs around 5,5 euros (with the tax..) to fill up the tank.. and which lasts around 100-110km :D It's economic for sure, and something that I can handle..

What we in South Africa call lawnmower powered scooters.
But they're light run arounds to say the least.

haha, can't deny that it isn't a very powerful machine.  :(
Manages to hit 75mph at 13bhp and only costs £7 to fill the tank which lasts a week with heavy use. It's a commuter motorcycle in a fancy suit but it sure is a lot of fun.  :D

I'm on a CBT which means I can ride a motorcycle up to 125cc with only a day of training and no official license.  :devroll:

Must display L plates though  :(
