I swapped the old stock 2006 CVPI ones out with the more-commonly used CVPI caps. I plan to eventually get the pushbar and spotlights reinstalled. I <3 my CVPI :)

I just prefer the stock look of my car, the way it's meant to be. I would suggest not provoking next time.

Man, that looks good.
Thanks :D

Hopefully speedbumps won't become a problem with it. :)
The car does scrape over most speed bumps but oh well! lol

Thought I'd post my build thread here for all the work I've done on the ICE (in car entertainment for anyone who doesn't know). The wording may be a little odd as I've put several posts together:

The stock speakers in my Mazda 3 were really bad and they really needed upgrading. I had a set of Hertz ESK130 5.25" component speakers that I had bought but never fitted so I used them powered by a JBL 2 channel GTO2060 amplifier. This has been my first attempt at doing anything related to ICE so I didn't really know what I was doing either.

Here's a quick pic of the speakers fitted with my rather crude attempt of sealing the speakers and the speaker adapter.

I thought I could get away with shoving the amp under the driver's seat but this was a stupid idea as it looked terrible, I couldn't secure it there properly and there was wiring all over the place.

I left it like that for a while but I wanted a more powerful 4 channel amplifier instead, so I picked up a DLS 4 channel amplifier a couple of weeks back and this last weekend I managed to fit it (properly this time). I mounted it on the back of the rear seat with all the wiring properly hidden away this time. Picture is with the rear seat folded down.

After about an hour of adjusting everything, I'm now really happy with the way my system sounds. There is absolutely no distortion and the sound is really clear. I think I'm about 90% there now, just a bit of fine tuning as I think it sounds a little too bright.

Here's a quick video of what its like now (the camera phone mic distorts slightly at times, this isn't the speakers):

I've now fitted a 13" Focal 33V1 sub bridged to the other 2 channels on my amp although I don't want to post any pictures of it yet as I still need to trim the box. I will eventually buy a decent monoblock amp to run the sub alone and then use the 4 channel DLS amp to go active on the front speakers.

Finally got down to doing some sound deadening!

I have about 90% coverage of the inner skin of the door (above) which I think should be enough but for the outer skin I'll be doing it bit by bit because I don't want to cover anything with sound deadening which the door card latches on to. Also fitted a 12mm speaker adaptor made out of MDF as opposed to the plastic one I had before. I will be putting a lot more deadening around the speaker area but I was running out of day light when I was doing this so I'll leave that to another day.

Skipping to the present day now, I've finished off sound deadening the door in the pictures above.

I could go ahead and do the full door but I think this is enough for what I require. I'll make a start on the boot area next because it's the source of a fair few rattles back there!

Just a quick update to this but I have now sound deadened the passenger side door, only managed to snap a quick pic as I wanted to get it all done before I ran out of day light:

I now have replaced my JVC headunit with a Pioneer 8300SD instead, I also partially deadened the tailgate but didn't take any pics of that either! A lot less rattles now although I think I will sound deaden the rear doors next.
