Ford have really forgotten how to design the front end of cars, starting with that new Fiesta and Focus.

I disagree. I do admit it would take a bit of work on the eye to get to like the new design but the way the front grilles are made, makes for better aerodynamics and maximum air intake.

Sup guys, while my forum account Nathan was banned, I am in the process of getting it unbanned right now..

Anyway, about the Infiniti crash, here is what happened:

Yes, that is not my Infiniti but my friend from college. Basically, we went out for a ride in his car, switching in to the very furthest lane, some idiot parked her park on the side of the freeway, but didn't park it all the way in the lane and I guess my friend didn't see the car (that's why you don't text and drive kids) and rammed into that car really bad but that's not all. The impact caused us to spin out and swerve and then the Honda hit us when trying to avoid us.

Moral of the story: Keep your eyes on the road.

Previously known as "Nathan" on forums. I was an idiot and got my forum account banned. Currently in the process to get it unbanned, so for now posting from here.

Just no.
If they were aiming for better aerodynamics they would definitely not make a giant grill which acts like a giant pocket of air instead of forcing the air over the car/around the car.

Maximum air intake really means nothing, an engine needs two things to do with air, ventilation for the radiator to cool the engine
And air for the engine to run on, there's absolutely no need for a massive grill on the front to cool a radiator and allow air into the intake.
Sure if the vehicle is running forced induction onto things like ITB's and Sidedrafts, then having forced induction can help a fair bit, but on a standard road going car, it is rather pointless unless you're planning on remapping the ECU and doing other mods.

Their design purely consists of aesthetics, and clearly going somewhat towards the Aston Martin front end design with that grill.

The Fiesta looks nice, the Focus is pretty ugly though.
Whilst I agree with your comments regarding the grille being primarily used as a visual enhancement, the majority of Fiestas will actually be sold in Europe with forced induction engines equipped with intercoolers. (1.0 Ecoboost and the 1.6 TDCI)

Try to ridicule us, try to demolish our reputation. But be sure to bring a f**king sledgehammer, because we're not going to roll over and die that easily.

Yeah plenty of the turbo charged models do have forced induction, although it's a rather crude example of forced induction.
When I say crude I mean it, they generally don't have smooth lines in the pipes leading to the filter box as well as the filter-box itself and so on.

Also those intercoolers which come standard are generally rather small too which means they don't need excessive cooling and airflow.
