Well, I no longer drive illegally and I just completed my theory test and the hazard perception. Booked some lessons for the sake of driving around in my instructor's VW Golf MK7.

UK users, how much do you pay for your insurance? I'm planning on getting an '05 plate VW Polo 1.4/1.6 but keep getting quoted with £2000+ a year for insurance.

All depends on how long you have been driving for and your age.  If this is your first time getting insurance it'll be high for the first year.
I don't pay nowhere near £2,000 a year and I'm driving a Lancer.

- I'm 19.
- Live in the suburbs of London.
- The vehicle will be parked in my own driveway overnight.
- Second driver
- Not going to be the registered car owner
- I'm looking for something cheap to run ('05 VW Polo 1.6 or could push to 1.4)
- In terms of crime in my area, only 14 crimes have been commited/reported in October 2015 alone. Only one of those crimes are vehicle related.

Although getting a corsa is cheaper I'm staying clear from those for obvious reasons.

Surely the above criteria shouldn't lead me to be paying £2000+ on car insurance.

I got my vroom vroom licence for nearly a year now. Even though, I've driven already 2 cars before finally getting the car I truelly love. I learned to drive in my Grandpa his Antara (supervised driving for 1.5 year in France) and then I took it over till it broke down in June this year (failing Engine injections). After that, I've driven a Citroen C1 which I ABSOLUTELY hated. And thus I decided to work and get money.

And thus, I got myself a December 2014 (2015 model) Opel/Vauxhall (English variant) Corsa in September, bought at the Opel Dealer... It's a 1.3 Ecoflex, 70bhp and I got some options onto it. I've had it tuned up recently, and it "presumely" produces a 100bhp atm. One thing is for sure, it consumes more and pulls up really quick. Only got some older pictures, as I got matts in my car these days as the dealer forgot to give them when he delivered the car.




Seat is a bit infront yeah, as my Sister stole it from me that evening.

Corsa's get stopped on a regular basis here in London due to it's reputation of being a boyracer. I've been doing some researching and I could actually ignore the VW Polo and go for a Skoda Fabia.
