Nvm, didn't bother washing. Here it is, my old banger ;)

Nice banger bro. What engine does it have and how is it when it comes to reliability?

1.6 petrol, 74kw (101hp I believe). Well I just got it recently, so can't say how reliable just yet. But so far it serves me well, plus it's quite fun to drive. The only downside is fuel consumption. I do mostly city driving and it's about 9 litre per 100 km. Cheers!

Man you even have the VR6 spoiler on the bumper. Nice. 90hp I believe it is

If you want reliability you can't go wrong with a Golf. Very durable, very easy maintenance and repair.
Passat is pretty much the same, only that its chasis is rather expensive to replace.

Actually it's a 1.6 GT version. It has same bumper like GTI and VR6. And it's 100 or 101hp, 1.8 is the one with 90hp.

Lol, was thinking the same. But screw it, our VW's take us from point A to B just as well. With much cheaper repair costs haha. I'm actually a japanese car fan, wanted to get a Mazda after 2 Civics, but ended up getting the Mk3 Golf cheap. Hope it serves me well (*knocks on wood).

Y'all rich or what? Meanwhile, I drive a '95 Golf Mk3 GT (paid 650 euro) lol    Will upload a pic once I wash it xD

Ain't no shame. You're doing yourselves a huge favor, though I guess you already know that. Put that CASH, MONEY and RESPECT into something that increases in value with time, not something that's already worth 20% less just cause you drove it out of the shop. Lol.

Exactly man. Those Passat's are legendary. Ridiculously cheap maintenance, very comfy, and the 1.9 TDI 66KW engine in these horses is literally unkillable. I had friends who drove without oil for like thousands of kilometers and the engine was fine. Not to mention the fuel consumption is ridiculously low. You fill the tank and forget about it for two months lmao.

My mechanic buddy, once I brought it for inspection, said: You'll be gone by then, your grand-children will be going to school, and this car will still be running.

And yeah, I bought it for 700, replaced the braking system, the chasis, all the belts and some other preventive repairs. The total with repairs turned out around 1300. But man, I know this car will never let me down.

Just a few days ago my water drain got clogged by leaves and smudge. The battery compartment got flooded, and the ECU in these Passats is located near the battery. The car started giving a check engine light and the accelerator would not respond. Left the car to dry in the sun for three days - all of the error codes are gone, and drives as usual. Let that sink in: THE ECU GOT SUBMERGED INTO WATER FOR GOD KNOWS HOW LONG, IT DRIED OUT AND CONTINUES TO WORK AS USUAL. I just took out the ECU today to clean it preventively and add some contact conductor.

I will much rather spend the leftover money from using an old, but reliable car on travel, leisure and entertainment, rather than buy some sort of status car like BMW and then eat nothing but buckwheat and noodles cause half my salary goes to the mechanic.

Man, VW is for people who work so they can enjoy life rather than work so they can spend 60 percent of their income on car repairs. I have so many BMW fanboy friends who have to consistently repair these fuckboi wagons and survive on the cheapest food possible just so they can maintain their scumbagmobiles.

After all, probably they enjoy it, there are a lot of people who like spending their time and passion into those.

I will come back with a picture of my car

@Huntsman what's your L/100km? Mine is around 4.6L, a lot of my friends are amazed by these numbers, 1.5 DCI renault engine.

Got this as my first big bike after getting my License 2 years ago... it was not my most clever purchase and has cost quite a bit to keep it roadworthy .
(1986 Honda VFR 750 RC24)

This is my daily driver and probably one of the best value purchases I've made. Cost £650 with 48k miles and great service history... I've done another 15k miles and has hardly cost me anything.
Not very exciting but comfortable for long journeys and gets 40-50mpg which is pretty good for its age. (2003 Volvo S40 1.9d)
