Here's a log that i've created of my fun and games with my "Virgin Wireless USB "Broadband"".
Note that this log is for the past 3 days ONLY!
Tuesday, March 23rd 2010-
8:00PM - Signal went down to 0% on UMTS, disconnect & connect to fix. VIRGIN BROADBAND Software froze.
8:03PM - Finally re-connected. On HSDMA, no data connections can be made.
8:04PM - Forced to dsconnect & reconnect. Signal is from UMTS for 3 seconds.
8:06PM - On HSDPA, internet pages take 20 seconds to load, MSN is unable to keep a steady data flow.
8:24PM - On HSDPA, opened a web page and data was not sending. Began to send after approx. 10 seconds.
8:53PM - On HSDPA, signal went to ~30%, no data flowed, continued for 1 minute until it slowly started to work again at slow speeds.
8:54PM - On HSDPA, still extremely slow load speeds - in excess of 1 minute to load a single page.
8:58PM - On UMTS, internet has completely cut out.
8:59PM - On HSDPA, swapped from UMTS. Works again now.
9:05PM - On HSDPA, conncecting to a website, half way through connecting data stopped transmitting. Took 30 secs to come back on.
9:09PM - On HSDPA, conncecting to a website, half way through connecting data stopped transmitting. Took 30 secs to come back on.
Wednesday, March 24th 2010-
7:03PM - Signal dropped to 90% on HSDPA, lost all connection. Took 50 seconds to go back up to full signal, got data back.
7:04PM - No data connections. (HSDPA)
7:05PM - No data connections. (UMTS) - Connection resumed after automatically swapped back to HSDPA.
7:06PM - On HSDPA, conncecting to a website, half way through connecting data stopped transmitting. Took 30 secs to come back on. No data connections to a large number of websites can be made.
7:07PM - Signal swapped to UMTS, then to HSDPA for no reason.
7:22PM - On UMTS, web pages not loading, data not flowing.
7:23PM - On UMTS, Still no data flow. 93% signal, not a data problem.
7:24PM - Automatically put back on HSDPA, data flow started again.
Thursday, March 25th 2010-
8:06PM - On UMTS, data stopped flowing all of a sudden. Forced to disconnect & reconnect. Takes 1 minute to disconnect.
8:08PM - Changed "Band" setting to "GSM900/GSM1800/UMTS2100"
8:09PM - Ping for Multiplayer games is about 100 higher than it should be and is continually spiking into the 1000s.
8:36PM - Loss of data connection while playing a multiplayer game.
8:38PM - Loss of data connection while playing a multiplayer game.
9:02PM - Loss of data connection while playing a multiplayer game. Disconnectecd internet as it would not reconnect.
9:03PM - "Band" setting refuses to change to "GSM 1900" or "GSM 850".
9:05PM - Set back to "All Bands"
9:06PM - On HSDPA after reconnecting. Extremely slow speeds.
9:11PM - Constant 1000+ Ping for over 20 seconds - not server's fault.
9:12PM - Constant 1000+ Ping for over 20 seconds - not server's fault.
9:13PM - Constant 1000+ Ping for over 20 seconds - not server's fault.
9:16PM - Constant 1000+ Ping ceases.

9:21PM - On HSDPA. Signal is at 0%, still have connections, albeit at an extremely slow speed. It changed to UMTS, while staying at 0% signal and still slowly transferring data.
9:47PM - Extremely slow data transfer. 19% data signal HSDPA. Swapped to UMTS and stayed on 19%.
9:57PM - On HSDPA, Signal is back up to 99%.
10:09PM - On HSDPA, connection transfers randomly dropped out.
10:10PM - Automatically swapped to UMTS. Still no transfers being established. Forced to disconnect & Reconnect.10:11PM - Reconnected on HSDPA, page loading is slow.

Where should I go from here? I intend on ringing them up and complaining, overwhelming them with my log, but I've been told they'll only offer me to not pay for it anymore. (It's prepaid)...
If that happens I think I might go onto the ACCC (Australian Consumer Complains Commission or some shit...), and see if I can get anywhere with that...Because when I signed up, I sure as hell didn't agree to have a non stable connection that constantly drops out...
Note: I am at my mum's house 1 week, dad's house the next week. At my dad's house I have a landline with 2mb/s DL speeds. At my mum's I have this internet.
