Enhancing player involvement - /hduty

As part of our commitment to the new, regular and veteran player base - we have worked together to address the concern of communication and active help.  In response, we have introduced the /ask command to serve as a platform of greater communication between our veteran player base and extended community.

Veterans - You are now able to help fellow members of the community through a structured scheme of development (/hduty). You will be able to answer questions in aid of raising awareness and instilling your experience into other developing players.

Regulars - You will be able to help in line with the above and ask questions to community veterans through /ask [question]. Players on /hduty will work alongside you to help on queries and provide assistance where relevant.

New players - You are now able to ask for direct help through a strong channel of communication. The response time to questions will be quick and efficient with the supportiveness of /p complimenting this.

Benefits to the community:
- Decreasing workload on administration
- Increasing structured player involvement in community

Important warning notice:
If you are found to be exploiting/abusing/misguiding this command, you will be punished severely in line with Argonath rules. If continued exploitation is found, you may be subject to a ban. This command should be used to help players only.

Absolutely fantastic idea. I can see this being a great addition, and helping many new players with their concerns or questions.

I myself have a question, though: how would one become a veteran, or regular?

I don't think that they put you in a rank.
Everyone can /hduty including new players I think.
Please correct me if I am wrong

/p is a integral part of the community and will not be removed in line with the Argonath vision.

I remember this because that was the time I started to play on another server that has this system. It was thrown out the window because 'more lines would be needed' and 'we already have /p'. I'm scratching my head over this update, really.

I am just giving a little suggestion into this command.

To show who is currently on /hduty, we could have a list with current helpers (/helpers).

If something negative gets added, you moan.
If something positieve gets added, you moan.

If you really like "that other server", why do you not leave and go there?
No one told you, that you are forced to play Argonath.

If you do not like it, do not join it.
If you like it, do not moan about it - simple as 1,2,3.

What an excellent addition!
Unfortunately, and after I tested this, I found out that 3/5 persons are simply not helping, they are just "acting funny" with "funny" answers.
It would be great, to have the command for people:
- Who apply to become one of the helpers;
- Staff.

Or, if someone is caught "abusing" the command, by not helping at all, temporarily restrict the command to that member for a short/long period of time.
